Listening to L.A. Radio, the "mature" hosts along with Rick Fox are making fun of Rondo's first name.  The are saying he was over hyped coming into the series.  Also they are saying Garnett is done. Gasol will continue to dominate.

Wow...They win one game and they are like little kids.
We will see the next game.  You know Rondo will go crazy and Garnett will Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. slap The Spaniard.

Gasol didn't even really dominate.

Gasol played a good game, but if we do our jobs he wouldn't sniff 8 offensive rebounds.

I am totally behind the Celtics but it is true that Rondo has been over hyped.  He has been great, but the national media has of course been making a bigger deal of him than they should.  It is relatively easy to take Rondo out of the game in terms of him really taking over.  That will change dramatically when he gets a shot but right now all you have to do is sag and clog (the middle that is).

Dis'ing KG is not quite as easy to figure out though.  The play of the Celtics depends largely on KG.  For a very large part of the season, KG and the Celtics were not that good.  In the playoffs, we have been great at times and pretty bad at times.  Predicting which KG/Celtics team will show up seems to be about like predicting earthquakes.

Doc said don't worry all year and he was proven right once the playoffs started.  He is saying this again and it may be coach-speak and it may be that we should listen to him, I just don't know.

I will admit that I do have a fear that KG used up everything he had left against CLE and ORL because in game 1 he looked like the mid season KG again.  Doc nursed him along all year just to have him ready he can't hold up indefinitely.  Doc says don't worry but I can certainly see why the talking heads are running with this.

If KG can ressurect himself for one more run, we start locking down the inside, eliminating ORebs, and get out running.  Thats how it all starts.  Then Rondo can be Rondo and the Celtics will be the Celtics.

Yes, not so easy to take Rondo out of the game if we are defending and rebounding well enough to  get a fastbreak going......

After so much build up about how soft the lakers were and how tough we were the Lakers came out and played like it was the superbowl. Only thing is it's not a superbowl it's a seven game series. They were acting at the end of the game like they had just won the series and they had put all the bad talk about them behing them. Still plenty of ball left to be played for them to show their true colors as well as us.

KG being injured and a step slow is expected. He has been all year. Unfortunately, Rondo is definitely hurt, and we needed him 100% for this series. I don't think he was overhyped...he was the best player in a series that had Lebron...But for him to dominate he has to play in a style in which he is really likely to get hurt, which happened.

Gasol did dominate and Rondo did have a mediocre game. If the Celtics had won game one in the same fashion as the Lakers did, Boston radio stations would be saying the same thing about Celtics players. Two words: who cares?

I think its a big mistake to equate what radio hosts are saying to how the Lakers view the celtics. Trust me, they realize that its just one game. Phil preaches staying in the moment. You can't get sensitive about LA radio making fun of your team when the same things were being done on Boston radio before game 1. Not to mention all the posts on this forum about Laker players and how they are hated and how soft they are. Goes both ways.

I don't think so.

I think they just played poorly, and then towards the end they let up on the effort because foul trouble and frustration got into their heads.
