I'm going to go with Allen Iverson last year.  He was on the roster but did not play in the game supposedly due to injury.  At least Magloire was a legit nba starter when he made it. AI was pathetic last year.  Worse than Dana Barros, Mo Williams, etc.

Way back I think Kobe (no maybe it was KG) in only their second year was having a good year, but not at all all-star worthy, yet was voted in due to popularity. Pathetic.

I think that might have been when Kobe waived off a pick by Malone cause he wanted to go one on one with MJ and missed the shot

I know people are going to hate me for saying this but, just calling a spade a spade here, KG this year was a horrible All-Star. He finished with 14.3 PPG, 7.3 RPG and less than a shot blocked per game. His stats were about the exact same just before the ASG.

I know he's a Celtic and now a beloved Celtic but, he had no business being on that All-Star team.

Sure, but he's far from the worst all-star. Josh Smith had a better first half, but he's the only PF who deserved to go over KG. (And honestly over Al Horford too)

Antione and Dana Barros are two rather recent awful Celtics who got there.

Dana Barros was a legit all star in 95.  He put up 20 ppg, 8 apg and 2 spg.  Not to mention 46% from 3pt range.  I don't care how bad the team is you're playing on, that's good.  And it's not as if the East was stacked with great pg's that year.

KG was no worse than recent VC, T-Mac, Yao, and iverson all-star selections.  They are all just popularity votes based on sheer ability instead of that year's production, which I find a different category.  I don't think Mo, Dana, Jamaal, et. al were voted in because of proven jaw-dropping talent.

When I think about bad all-stars, I tend to give a pass to guys who are legit all-stars for many years and are past their prime.  I rather have a future hall of famer get one more all-star game, then giving it to a young guy that is just having a great year.  I want to see the real Stars for an all-star weekend.

Again:  Grant Hill made an all-star team despite only playing four games.  If the question is "who had the least deserving season", it's clearly him, right?

The worst overall player to make an all-star team was either Magloire or Tyrone Hill, in my opinion.

I'm no fan of the All-star game but Seattle Sonics forward Tom Chambers was a replacement for I think James Worthy one year (1987) only because the game was in Seattle and he happened to win the All-star game MVP and he proclaimed himself the greatest player in the world that day.

Well every dog has his day, I suppose.

By that criteria, Magic Johnson, who made it in a year that he wasn't even on a roster, would reign supreme.

Ah, good call.  Although who is a worse all-star, the guy who can't walk, or the guy who retired?
