I'm guessing KG and Dwight won't hang out any time soon.

If you watch closely at the first time Howard grabbed him, (especially the side-view camera), Dwight was forcefully digging his fingernails into KG's side, and that's why KG reacted so aggressively, and that's what he was complaining to Callahan about. The first thing KG says is "He was digging me with his fingernails!", (you can read his lips).

i didn't like what Kg did...but he sent a message...and i agree on  that Davis lay-up missed, he was clearly expecting that elbow...

I agree and cant really condone such blatant behaviour. I am surprised KG didnt get a technical for this as this was a really stupid stupid foul and infront of the referee. This was probably one of few occasions Howard was innocent.

If we are to "Beat LA" then we need KG to start behave smarter than he appears to have done in the Orlando series. In my opinion, KG was largely missing but I expect him to come back when he plays "Big Softy" from Spain in the Finals.

After watching that again, we're very lucky that KG wasn't ejected and/or suspended.

Quote from: NBA Rulebook
Flagrant “2” (FFP2) - unnecessary and excessive contact committed by a player against an opponent. The opposing team is awarded two (2) free throws and possession and the player committing the foul is automatically ejected. . . .

The League Office will consider the following factors (as well as any other relevant facts and circumstances) in determining whether to classify a foul as Flagrant "1" or Flagrant "2", to reclassify a flagrant foul, or to impose a fine and/or suspension on the player involved:

1. The severity of the contact; 2. Whether or not the player was making a legitimate basketball play (e.g., whether a player is making a legitimate effort to block a shot; note, however, that a foul committed during a block attempt can still be considered flagrant if other criteria are present such as recklessness and hard contact to the head) 3. Whether, on a foul committed with a player’s arm or hand, the fouling player wound up and/or followed through after making contact; 4. The potential for injury resulting from contact (e.g., a blow to the head and a foul committed while a player is in a vulnerable position); 5. The severity of any injury suffered by the offended player; and 6. The outcome of the contact (e.g., whether it led to an altercation).

Here, the contact was severe, it wasn't a legitimate basketball play, KG wound up (twice), and there was a large potential for injury.

I mean, how is that any better than an elbow or a thrown punch?

I don't know whether Garnett was lucky, but Howard must be the leprechaun reincarnated.
