Paul Pierce is going to make sure we close them out tonight ;)

It is time for this team to end this series. PP and the other stars want to be associated with the Celtic legends of the past. The only way for that to happen is for them to act like them. Go out and handle your business. No other Celtic team that has been up 3-0 has ever let a series even get to the 6th game. No excuses, no complaining, no more talking - just go out and win game 6.

Oh by the way, I do believe that the Gahden will be very "fired up" tonight, to say the least.

Yes!  Go Celtics!
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

The same way he did when he was saying that  "Game 7s are not for everyone" last year?

If we're waiting for any one player to save us tonight, we're going to lose. It's as simple as that.
"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Go out and handle your business.

Someone has been listening to Mark Jackson :)

Feeling good about tonight though!

I'm not crazy about the title of this thread.  I picture Paul wanting to take every shot like in the end of game 4.

If Doc was smart he'd use this to his advantage. Orlando will expect it, they'll go and try to trap him or double him(just like at the end of Game 4). Doc just needs to lay it in to Pierce to PASS to the open man..and you know what, if the open man doesn't make the shot, I'd still be fine with it as long as it's not Pierce missing the shots while being doubled and defended really well.

Agree with kozlodoev , we can't depend on 1 person to win the game. It will take a full team effort. Of course I won't mind Pierce, or anyone for that matter, hit some really well timed, "big" shots.  ;)

It's a double edged sword.  People want to preach ball movement (trust me I love it just as much anyone else) but, if some of the starters aren't taking shots (KG) or disappearing (Allen) then someone has to take charge of the game and score some points.  Rondo is laboring although he still gets his.  I know people like to point the finger at Paul (HERO??) as if he's got some plan to shoot it constantly.  Of course this lacks logic seeing as how just last series he subjugated and took a lot less shots for the betterment of the team.

I don't even get the line of thinking about Paul wanting to be man.  Since the big 3 have came to town he's taken the least amount of shots in his career every year.  It's a canard created by C's fans to find ' some reason ' why the C's lost.

Is he prone to do too much some times sure just like every other great player in the league.  But not anywhere close to what some of our own fans seem to believe.

I'm with the OP whether it's a pass, a big rebound, or late game winner I believe Paul will lead C's into the Finals tonight.

I want the team to not let the team lose, not one player.

Pierce has been going all out the last two games when the team around him can't seem to get going.  The problem is that he's been getting tired as a result of putting the team on his shoulders and has been less effective late in the game as a result.

I just want the whole team to play well, that's the only way we're really gonna beat the Magic.

I dont think the op is saying PP is going to need to jack 30 shots tonight. He's just saying he's going to step up and not let us lose. Cblog-where overreatcting happens
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I just read this whole thread and didn't see an overreaction from anyone so I don't think your post makes sense.  The title of the thread is "Don't worry our captain will not let us lose," and the first sentence he wrote is "Paul Pierce is going to make sure we close them out tonight."  Not criticizing the OP, just stating the facts.

I don't think the OP is saying PP is going to need to jack up 30 shots tonight either, but I do think he's implying that Paul needs to put the team on his back, which he's been trying to do the last two games without success.  In what other way could Paul "step up and not let us lose" as you refer to?

What about Rondo, Ray, KG, Perk, Stubby, Wallace, the coaching staff, the fans, my fellow bloggers, and yes even me?

I promise to make the Celtics win tonight.

I don't want Paul to feel like he has to put the team on his back. I think that is what happened in game 4, he ran out of steam and we lost. We need a great team effort. The guy who has to bring his A game tonight, though, is Rondo. Because he can dominate without taking alot of shots.

He won't have to shoot too much and be out of steam if everyone shows up from the outset of the game.

I've always had mixed emotions about the "captain." When Toin was here he followed Toine's lead.(This was not a good thing.)When KG arrived he followed KG's lead.(This was a good thing.)KG is the one that changed "the Toine led Celtic environment" to the current one.(Not Doc, not Pierce, not Danny.)Unfortunately our captain is a follower. Hopefully he understands it's not about him. I hope he excepts the fact that he is a darn good NBA player and stay in that role.
