For short periods of time, as a changeup, to give Nelson a different look! What's really the harm in trying to put a bigger body on him to disrupt his shot a little bit? Rondo is clearly not himself, and is doing nothing to slow this guy down. If Nelson continues to run amok, we're going to lose this series, point blank. Nelson is faster than Pierce, but he's also faster than an injured Rondo as well. At least during isolation situations, Nelson can't just rise up over Paul like he has been over Rondo. We won't win this series unless Doc makes some adjustments to how we're defending Nelson. He has won the last 2 games for Orlando, with his shot making and penetration.

I don't agree. Nelson is doing his damage with pick and rolls. Pierce won't be able to slip his way through the Howard screens any better.

Nelson's doing his damage because Rondo keeps gambling.  If Rondo stays on him, it'll limit his shooting and completely shut down his already subpar playmaking skills.

The C's need to stop gambling, trapping, doubling, etc.  Orlando doesn't have a LeBron or D-Wade.  Just stay home and Orlando can't do anything.

They need to show better on the pick and roll.

And then, they need to rotate better behind.

Yeah, i have no idea why they're collapsing in the paint when scrubs like JJ Redick drives to the hoop. Make him make a layup in traffic! If he makes it, good for him. There's no reason to collapse on Nelson when he drives either. I'd rather Nelson go for 35 while we keep a lid on all the other guys. We have been allowing Nelson to get his points AND get his teammates involved. We're taking nothing away from him. Either make him score all the points himself, or double him and make the other guys beat you. We can't keep allowing him to do both.

We certainly did not adjust well to the screens they are setting for Nelson in game 5.  It is up to the coaches to come up with something for game 6 and the players need to execute.

But I don't agree that this is Rondo's fault.  He is getting screened to death and the other players need to step it up as well.

putting pierce on nelson is a bad idea. nelson is too quick for pierce and pierce has absolutely no chance at getting past any of the screens.

what the c's need to do is tighten up on their pick n' roll defense. that means rondo needs to stay in front of his man better and one of the bigs needs to show better to delay nelson for that extra split second. AND BRING THAT BOSTON CELTICS INTENSITY!!!

Yes, Nelson's too fast for him and it's important to keep Paul from foul trouble. He's the onlt guy that came to play in every game in this series.

The Celtics should learn how to defend a pick and roll, thats what they should do. How for like 13 straight NBA years can a team be so bad at defending a pick and roll? It doesnt make any sense.

The problem with the pick and roll defense is, Nelson is very good at splitting the big guy who comes over to stop him from turning the corner. Nelson is either turning the corner with ease, or splitting the help. Like i said earlier, i think even if he does split the help and get into the paint, they should all stay at home and make him make layups over Perk. The only other alternative is going under all the screens, but Nelson is a really good 3 point shooter, so i don't know if that's the best idea in the world. I really don't have a solution for our pick and roll defense against this guy at this point.
