Jameer is a great player. You expect this kinda things from great player. Rondo had a little slippage tonight. He'll get it together in game5.

Jameer Nelson is a great player? Come again?

Jameer Nelson sucks.  He had one good game against Rondo, and Rondo is not going to let him do it again.  When Rondo goes out, our whole team changes, so he has to be out there for pretty much the whole game, which means he has to be healthy.  He has gotten banged up a lot in these playoffs, hitting the floor hard in pretty much every game, usually getting slammed in midair and coming down flat on his back.  It's how he plays.  Look at how he put it all on the line in the last game with the Cowens-like scramble for the ball.  Rondo also bounces back quickly, so I don't think he'll miss any time.  He will come back strong.  The rest of the team was also flat and not ready to end the series.  KG hesitated on some open shots, so his confidence was obviously not there.  They will get it done though, they have three shots to knock out Orlando.  I predict that the next time the Celtics put together a 10 point lead, they will hold it and win the game, because Orlando doesn't really want to drag this out either.  Let's get this thing done.  I'm not afraid of any team with Vince Carter.  Jameer Nelson sucks.

every time I see the title of this thread I think, "oooookay champ. Sure."
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Jameer is a great pull up 3 pt shooter off the dribble. I definitely do not consider him a great player, but he is great at quick pull up jumpers.

Orlando did a great job with the picks.

Just look at Jameer's numbers against the Celtics the past 2 years. He's right at about 3 AST and 3 TO per game, with scoring down as well.

He had a good game 4, but Rondo has dominated him overall in the last 20 games or so.

Jameer unquestionably abused Rondo Monday night. They weren't doing anything different with the staggered screens. The only difference was how hard Rondo worked to get over them.

But it's one game, and Rondo dominated the first three. Too soon to panic about that matchup.

It's the SI jinx.

For a 'coach', you seem awful quick to heap blame on one player, even though you should know that good pick-and-roll defense is dependent on many different factors, such as the quality of the big man's 'show', the degree to which illegal screens are called (Orlando had about 20 illegal screens in Game 4), and how hard the ball defender fights over a pick.

Rondo's lack of aggression getting over the pick wasn't the 'only difference' in Game 4.  The team's defense was a step slow all night, and the officials had a clear blindspot when it came to spotting illegal screens.
Folly. Persist.

I still am convinced Rondo was hurting.  Based on how he looked on both sides of the ball, I would not be the least bit surprised to see a story come out in a couple weeks that Rondo had a terrible case of the runs or something.  He just had no explosion (no pun intended), and seemed out of sorts.

Completely disagree with you. I've watched the game twice. The shows were fine and any insinuation that Orlando was setting illegal screens regularly is laughable.

There was clearly something wrong with Rondo, because the quality of effort he brought was well beneath the level he's consistently displayed throughout the playoffs.

I know that grates on the Rondo Fan Club, but secondary effort cannot be disguised or rationalized away. Knock yourself out offering up a variety of vacant excuses, but those are the facts.

I do hope that KG gives Rondo a copy of this thread prior to the game.
