I think that was an amazing play.  One question, though.  I thought the NBA rules say that one cannot get up from the floor with the ball.  Why was this not a traveling violation?

i think he kind of stopped it from rolling then, stood up and picked it up in one motion.  The rule you are talking about is when a player starts with possession, falls down, he cannot get back up.

Yeah, I mean great play, but everytime I see it I can't help but say, "That's definitely a travel." I'm very surprised the refs didn't call it that way, the only argument I can see is that you can dribble the ball when you are on the ground and then stand up, and he was in the middle of a dribble when he stood up.

I think it was a good call. He hadn't dribbled before and he started his dribble as he was getting up. It was probably to close to call and I don't know if the refs would have made it out of the building if they take away that play.

Besides if they're not going to call Lebrons crab jump or whatever it's called, I don't see how they can call that.
