If Phoenix lets Amare walk do they have the cap space to reunite him with Nash? I think that would be a perfect fit.

He would be awesome with Wade, Lebron, Chris Paul.  He'd be great with D Howard but they won't be able to sign him.
He has to make up his mind if he's happy being the main man in Dallas, or if he'd be more comfortable sharing that status or playing option 1.b.  I think he'll stay in Dallas but it would be cool to see him paired with another great one.

Force a sign and trade to Orlando.  Team next to Howard and let Howard be the defensive, rebounding do the dirty work big man.

How bout Chicago? They have enough money to offer LBJ a max contract and still sign another for a nice 10 mil contract.
Add another good player for the MLE and you got a 55-60 win team on paper

Rose/Flip Murray
Hinrich/Deng
LeBron/1st rounder
Dirk/Taj Gibson
Noah/Haywood
Can't stop, Rondo!

Dirk's already played on an uptempo Dallas squad with Nash, Finley, and Bradley. In all Maverick combinations, regardless of the roster, the team sorely lacked defense in playoff situations and thus, folded all the time. It time it's time to accept the face that Nowitzki will never win a title without first being on a defense mainly squad with him as the 2nd or 3rd scoring option. That being said, given the fact that he's only 31, he should go for the money now (i.e. Dallas) and join either Houston or Boston, during his twilight years (after 33) as a sixth man.

Wasn't it Dallas that made the full-MLE offer to Gortat last offseason (that Orlando matched?)....

Dirk would be a hella nice fit next to Howard.  They're probably stuck with Rashard, so switch him to the 3.  Put Vince on the block, see if you can get a "tougher" guy at the 2-guard.

But they have guys like Lopez, and Dudley who are bringing the team toughness and defense that those Dallas teams never had.
