john hollinger's espn article today about how rondo has been THE difference in this celts-magic series between last season and this season. was full of praise for rondo's talent specifically and the celtics effort generally.

then in typical hollinger fashion, he sticks his foot right in his mouth (where it belongs). he totally dismisses kevin garnett's presence in this series with this gem:

"Although some may point to Garnett's presence, he's been a limited factor -- just 13-of-36 for the series with averages of 9.3 points and 8.7 rebounds."

yes, definitely, no doubt, rondo has been a huge reason for the celtics success thus far. but the bigger difference has been boston returning to its dominant defense that won the title in 2008 ........... and that is where KG's presence has been felt the most, never mind his masterful defensive job so far on rashard lewis.

KG is the difference. rondo has been a great addition to that difference that has probably helped us end these series much quicker than in '08.

let's keep this going for game 4 !!!

The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Hollinger is an idiot.

He has been trying to use his stupid, retarded stats to justify any and every reason why the Magic can come back (before game 3) and can't come to terms with the fact that stats aren't everything.

Just another one of ESPN's idiotic analysts.

Uh, you may disagree with his analysis, but Hollinger is far from an idiot. I don't think it's that far off to say KG has been provided limited contributions this series.

Limited contributions on the offensive end.  He's been absolutely excellent on defense.  I mean, really superb stuff.

On one of the Celtics defensive positions, just watch KG some time.

Maybe he should watch the games instead of crunching numbers, then he may realize the impact KG is having on the series.  Come to think of it, has Hollinger ever seen a basketball game?

Stat lines for KG's match-ups this postseason:

Beasley: 10/6/0.5 on 45% shooting.
Jamison: 12/7/1 on 42% shooting.
Lewis: 5.5/5.5/3 on 25% shooting.

Don't really need to say much more than that.
Never stop believing baby~
