Irony of Howard's post game remark.

The one that got all the attention was "Anybody got a BROOM?" but it was posted while he was at the postgame presser.  There was also I believe one that referred to Game 3 on Thursday, which was a big tipoff (it's Saturday).

Definitely in agreement, that Clark Kent - Superman interview was a complete embarrassment, and if that wasn't one of the most egotistical and stupid things I have ever seen, I don't know what is. How anyone involved with that utter stupidity could question someone else's pride is beyond me.

Dwight was definitely laughing it up with someone in the crowd in the fourth and Rashard came over and told him to focus. He had a very phony smily look on his face as if he knew the Magic were going to win and it was just easy for him, and it would all be good footage for the championship dvd. Well you didn't win, you lost, you may get swept and now it's not so funny is it?

I also saw Dwight trying to joke with KG who was completely ignoring him. That is the difference Dwight, you're pride got in the way of trying to win the game, KG and all the Celtics weren't thinking about themselves, they were focused on one thing, winning.

I have no problem with Howard leading a good, God faring life. What I do not like is the utter hypocrisy that he preaches with about being prideful when he is an egomaniac.

Perhaps he part of the Bible that Howard should read up on is the" Let he who is without sin cast the first stone". Maybe before commenting on Pierce's supposed prideful comment Howard should look in the mirror and see how his pride has lead to his fall.

I did lose some respect for his takedown of Pierce, but I forgive him for it. He needs to do better than that, though

Howard has a long history of acting like a thug. I've seen him push, shove, and elbow people after a whistle multiple times. I still remember how he took a swing at Rondo several of seasons or so ago. So in view of these, yesterday's tackle does not surprise me at all.

I understand he hates hack-a-Dwight, but this is not acceptable and the league should take care of it.

The thing that struck me was Howard saying that the games are important BUT he has to play "his game".  Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. is that?  Does he really want win, or is he more interested in his image, his acting career, pleasing the crowd, etc?  And actually, he didn't even play his game.  30 and 8 is not Dwight Howard.

just to play devil's advocate here.....

magic johnson smiled and laughed all the time on the court. he was as competitive a player as there ever was. dwight howard is a young guy who has been to an nba finals and now he is back in the eastern conference finals. as SVG pointed out earlier this year, look at how long it took KG to get a ring. am i a big dwight howard fan? Not really. Does he need to diversify his offense? Absolutely. But let's not crucify (no pun intended to this particular thread) the guy because he smiles and plays it up for the camera. he seems to have an outgoing personality and likes to have fun; he is more mature than me at that age, i will tell you that.

Hopefully Pierce is correct and we get the jungle on Saturday night.  I know the team deserves the jungle.

If Orlando needs motivation other than getting beat twice on their own home court they are already done.

He's the most incredible physical specimen in the league, but he's a cheap shot artist rather than a real tough guy.  Perk is a real tough guy.
