I'm very interested to see how Stern responds to this. Jackson is sending signals to the referees through the media, which is exactly what Stern told the coaches in general and Jackson in particular not to do.

Ya gonna make his day, commissioner?

Nash and Gentry are of course awesome. I'd love to see the Suns take the title if the Celtics can't, but I don't see them taking the West, with or without mind games.

I hated Phil Jackson when he played and hate him even more now.

He has to fined for this because it is basically a criticism of
Stern's beloved officials and Stern does not allow ANY criticism.

I can't stand Phil, but he did a great job of criticizing the officials without criticizing the officials.

I wish Phil Jackson would just go away. You'd think he'd realize by now his smug mind games don't work as well when he doesn't have Jordan or Shaq on his team. Great comeback by Nash.

Steve Nash is awesome. Phil Jackson is smug, arrogant, and also, in his own way, awesome. Remember after game 2 of the finals when he was reading the box score at the podium and said "It looks like a 'Leon Powe' shot more free throws in fifteen minutes of play than our entire team did all game. My first thought is, 'What's a Leon Powe'?"

Not knowing how to pronounce the name of a player that just abused your team in the Finals didn't exactly strike me as "awesome".

And he's not playing mind games with Nash, he's playing mind games with the refs. If he gets even one of those calls this series because of what he said it was worth it.

Does Phil realize this stuff is working against him at this point? The only thing he's accomplishing is getting the ref's p---ed with him, cause they know his criticisms aren't serious, it's just schtick. I'm sure it worked the first couple of times he's tried it, but he's only hurting himself now, IMO.

The correct response is for Gentry to totally compliment the refs with something like this....

"The refs don't call him for travelling because they know he's the best point guard alive and he doesn't do that. But they'll call what happens. They will see all the reaching in Kobe does. They'll call Gasol's hacking. They'll call when Ron Artest subtly pushes people in bounds and all his blocking fouls and moving picks. They'll catch Artest's technical fouls under his breath. They'll see his eye rolls. They know what to look for."

Artest is the weak link. They should be getting in his head. nothing will get into Nash's

Just two classless scumbags cajoling one another.

I never thought I'd root for the Lakers but I'd love to see any team Nash is on get skunked.

American much, thank you.

A fleabag and a flopper who makes a fortune in this country and trashes it every opportunity he gets is a classless scumbag.  Maybe the fleabag should sign with Toronto.

Jackson is the most overrated coach in NBA history....Nash also carries constantly...Jackson is right about that.  But he's the ultimate hypocrite as the coach of Jordan, O'Neal, and Bryant.

I definitely won't get into this any further here. That's not what this thread is for, or this forum. I'm just gonna leave you with this, just because you disagree with someone politically doesn't mean they're "scumbags". That's Gerry Callahan territory. I'm pretty sure I don't agree with much of what you believe in, but I'm not going to call you a scumbag over it, cause I don't know you.

You have yourself a good one.

  • BEAT L.A.! Yankees s****!
Well, I will just say this. Even though I despise Phil and the Lakers, he has earned the right to talk a little smack. They are after all, the defending champs and he has won a few rings. I like Steve Nash, but he hasn't won anything - so until then shut your trap. That being said, Go SUNS!
I believe in God, Family, and The RED SOX!
