I think signing Tony will be much like signing Big Baby last year, lot of talk going on but he will stay, Boston took a chance on him last time, I think and hope he repays the debt now that he is finally healthy and able to help out, and it's not like he can complain about the minutes

There are a few differences between Tony Allen this off-season and Big Baby last off-season.

One is that TA is an unrestricted free agent, while BBD was restricted.  Another is that a lot of teams were tight on money before, but there are a lot of teams who cleared cap space to chance free agents and may be willing to throw money at Tony Allen and gamble that he can become a consolation prize if they fail to get a big name free agent.  Finally, I can see Allen as an actual NBA starter, unlike Davis.

Glen Davis is almost half-way through a two-year, $6.3 million contract.  Tony Allen is finishing a two-year, $5 million contract.  That makes me think that TA should be able to get more money than Big Baby.

I love TA.  He's come up big for us in these playoffs.  Our team has been great on defense in large part because of TA.  He did a marvelous job in the first two rounds against two of the best scorers in the league.  I'm expecting him to feel pretty good guarding a slightly less dangerous scorer in the next round (Vince Carter).

umm, missing with a bum knee? That was a huge bump in the road of the NBA career of Tony Allen. He is playing wonderfully now that he is healthy. Yes, still a mistake here and there, but great D, and a runner/slasher this team desperately needs.

A few of Tony's decisions were terrible last night, but his defense was good overall, and I liked his hustle.

As weird as it is for me to say, I'd like to see the team bring him back next year.

guy has quick, strong hands.  in the playoffs they let you get away with a little more contact and that benefits TA.

I've always been a huge TA fan and I'm thrilled he's stayed healthy for long enough to get in a groove.  His energy and defense have always been incredible.  I'm glad he cut back his offensive attempts to the times that he is absolutely wide open.  He gets enough points in transition.  I love those easy hoops he gets simply from sprinting the court.  And Rondo seems to get a couple easy transition layups every game created by TA's poke aways.  Go Tony!

hah, I watched the first half of last night's game at a bar. When that happened everyone just went crazy, even the Cavs fans (which there were plenty of seeing as I live in Ohio) gave him his props...What a way to end the half. I'm pretty sure that dunk helped set the tone for our third quarter...

He's slowly getting back to where he was before the injury.

2007: 17 PER
2008: 11 PER
2009: 13 PER
2010: 14 PER

The strangest thing about Tony is his play seems to be like a feedback loop. The better he plays, the better he plays.

I think he has figured out to play like he was in 07 despite coming off the bench (something he struggled with in the past.) He's 27 now, so at some point the athleticism will slip a bit, be he's worth taking on another two year deal at similar money. Under no circumstances should the Celtics get in a bidding war for Tony Allen.

I have never seen one guy rattle Lebron. He took the battle to him. Posey wouldn't be able to do the things TA did in this series & overall in this playoffs. Really proud of TA. His price tag keeps going up, up, up, up..............

As a lifelong Tony Allen hater I'm happy to come here to praise him.

Sure I still think he's going to dribble the ball off his feet out of bounds every time he takes it to the rack, but his contributions, effort, and defense in this series is what put us over the top.

Big Baby and Sheed have had good games as well, but Tony has clearly emerged as the MVP of our bench.

Cudos to you Tony.

I'll now think about removing the Turnover Tony nickname from my repertoire.

TA is the X man this playoff season so far...The needed guy, The D, the slashing, the dunks, the steals, clogging the lane, Taking the tough defensive assignments, AND being able to score while covering the tough guys..!  So, i have asked b4, but I'd like to hear people stop referring to "Bad TA", as if no other player ever turned the ball over..like during ISO's, or missed 3's, or not dunking when they should..ect....so treat our man TA like he deserves, a great TEAM member who is really BRINGING it in the POST season...when it really matters..!!!

THAT, was a man-dunk if ever i saw one...so, now TA is "The Man"..!
