I know it will never happen because their franchise is cursed, and horribly managed, but talent-wise alone, if you are LeBron, you can't beat joining the Clippers:

PG: Baron Davis
SG: Eric Gordon
SF: LeBron
PF: Blake Griffen
C:  Chris Kaman

Key Reserve: DeAndre Jordan (and plenty of guys who want a ring and will sign for cheap).

Also, imagine the hysteria in the media and in LA about LeBron vs. Kobe ... who owns Staples.

Another great location for LeBron would be to join Wade in Miami (but not sure their egos could share the spotlight).  If he joins the Nets or Knicks, their situations will be similar to Cleveland, at best, over at least the next 2 years.

To me no question is between Nets, Clippers, and Miami (if Wade stays) as far places I would choose to go if I were him and wanted to balance winning and having a long successful career.

He needs to play with a second star. Miami would be smart. Him and Bosh in NYC would be smart. Going to Chicago with another very good/star player would be good.

Can't see any other options.

As much as hate saying it, he should stay in Cleveland. Man, he is the only thing that town has got going for it! I don't think any city deserves the sporting heart breakers that they have endured as fans.

Best location FOR Lebron? Chicago. Though this could backfire easily being in the looming shadow of #23. Where ever he goes, you would have to make sure you had a partner in crime (Bosh, Wade, etc..) to share the blame if he so happens to put in another one of those performances.

The best location for him IMO would be Boston. Seriously. KG and Perk and Rondo would be the perfect teammates for him. Tough defenders that can impact the game without scoring. KG and Rondo don't care a lot whether they score or not but both are capable of stepping up when necessary. If you think that LeBron is somewhat like MJ (not comparing the two, btw) then Rondo and KG would be like a large and a small Pippin.

I think the best location for him is on a big market in NYC, I don't think that he's gonna win a championship, he had great teammates for 4 years now and the best he did is a easy sweep in the finals. He will be a MVP and the best player in the world for a long time, but maybe he is too good, so good that I feel that guys find it hard to play with him when it counts.

Miami, playing with D-Wade.  Second best choice is Chicago.

Best place for him is Cleveland. The cavs might not have cap space, but they have a bunch of young prospects that they could trade in a sign and trade for any of the other free agents. Mo Williams + Varejao is enough to match a max player, and given the amount of cap space out there, teams who will be losing their free agents won't be able to get too picky.

If Joe Johnson or Bosh decide to leave their teams, it'd be hard to get a better package than Varejao+Williams, or Williams+Hickson+West.

If cavs management has any vision at all, they'd go hard after Joe Johnson, offering the Hawks Williams+Hickson+West in a sign and trade.

Couldn't care less.
Now can we please stop talking about him.
There are two more rounds in the playoffs yet.
And he's not in 'em  ;D

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Chicago, assuming that they can clear space for another star.

I really like the New Jersey situation, too, but I can't see Lebron going to such a bad (if talented) team.

I can't see this happening.  I don't think other GMs are going to bend over to improve the Cavs.  Williams and AV have a ton of money owed to them over several seasons; another GM isn't going to willingly take that on.  Toronto would be better off completely rebuilding rather than accepting mediocre players.

if he has any integrity, he will re-sign with clev. they have a good team, they will get a new coach, he means the world to that city. he is a hero there, but re-signing there is the right thing to do, and re-signing there will cement his legacy.

i am sick of the topic too, as others are, but IMHO, he should stay right where he is. the grass is not always greener.

Interestingly enough, I just started a thread regarding KG's comments to Lebron, basically saying that loyalty is overrated.  Sometimes, the grass *is* greener, and there's no reason to lock yourself into a bad situation.

Agreed, provided by NYC you mean the Knicks or the Nets.  I think the Nets would be the better of the two NYC choices because of the international marketing perhaps made possible by the new billionaire owner.

Chicago would be the smart choice if LBJ cares about winning.  Of course, he'd always be second to Michael Jordan in that city, and so the question is whether LBJ can deal with that.

LA Clippers -- just don't see it.  Sterling is such a cheapskate he would never put a winning team around LBJ, and LBJ knows it.
