Walker's a good guy who made a lot of dumb choices and let people take advantage of him, I wish him well and hope he gets his stuff together.

Saw it this morning. and all i could say after was, "[dang], Antoine." really sad, he's a good guy, just has issues like all of us. just sad to see that he had some BIG issues.

I guess a fool and his money never had any business getting together in the first place.  Toine says he helped people that couldn't help him [now that he needs it], but he helped people that he probably can't even find now.

Hard to feel sorry for him, even as I still like the guy.

Boston Celtics - Now home of the washed-up All-Stars of the late 90's,early 2000.
Antoine says he hopes to get his game back, but how much is left in the tank. In his defense, he hasn't played real ball in 3 years(at least) So that's 3 years less on his legs. I never really remember him having bad injuries, just weight problems. But so does Big Baby. Maybe, just maybe, Employee #8 could get his crap back together and work on a vet minimum next year.

Antoine, if you're serious,willing, and able, then get your back end in shape and make worth of yourself in PR. A comeback to the NBA isn't completely shot, yet.

That "fool and his money" comment is out of line, man.  I mean what is that based on?  When he came into the NBA, his skillset warranted that type of Contract(or at least close to it).  No one knew that he'd turn out to love the 3pter more than the 2pter later on.   No one knew that he wouldn't improve his game as the years progressed.  No one knew that there would be no coach to really teach him how to play the right way or a Vet to kick his azz when he does something stupid.  All this conjecture from you is pure Hindsight.    >:(

I know it's difficult for you to imagine but there are people out there that give out money(huge sums of it) to charity instead of hoarding it for a rainy day like most people in today's economy.  Walker, for a time, was one of those people.  The main problem was his Gambling Addiction and that snowballed into this big mess.

Now why is it hard to feel sorry for him?   If you were in a position where you thought you had friends but they turned out to be "not your friends" when you need them, would you like it if someone described you as a Fool who doesn't deserve sympathy?   

If you make mistakes in life, you're not afforded a second chance to make things right?  C'mon, man....  :(

No offense intended, just stating a fact.  The expression is a modern variant of old saying, "A fool and his money are soon parted," with its first variant being found around the mid-1500's.  And Antoine is a textbook example of the principle:  He gave away piles of cash to hangers on, spent lavishly on himself (cars, mansions), invested large amounts of money with someone of whom he knew hardly anything (according to him in the video), and, of course, the gambling, which probably wasn't even close to the largest drain on his finances, and wouldn't be worth mention if not for the recent publicity of his debts.  That, with regard to financial management, makes him quite foolish, perhaps incredibly so.  Sure, he was mostly worth his NBA contracts (as much as anyone is "worth" that much cash to play a game, as opposed to curing cancer or something), but that wasn't the point.

And, to me, it really is hard to feel sorry for someone who had THAT much money and was THAT stupid with it.

I feel more for his tenants who lost everything because of shoddy maintenance leading to sewer spills than for him.

His "broke," with 2 cars, an own house and a 150 thousand salary is much, much better than most people's "well off."
