From a Cleveland perspective, the Cavs are winning which is great.  What is better for the Cavs is that the Cavs are winning at the half and Lebron only had to take 4 shots.

Lebron, at home, against Boston?  I think a 30 point second half is coming.

from a celtics perspective, we have shot terribly in the 1st half and allowed verajao to kill us on the boards, yet are only down six. Big celtics comeback coming up in the second half.

Cute.  I have one that isn't made up.  And now I will stop hijacking this thread.  Good first half.  Looking forward to the second.

Is it just me, or is KG even at his old and broken down state, still our best offensive player? He's the only one on the team who can still create a really good look for himself at all times. I wonder if KG could ever bring himself to take 15 or 20 shots. Heck, i'd let him shoot every single time, because good things usually happen when he has the ball.

I really wouldn't mind losing to the Cavs if the refs called it fairly....the Queen and her minions get the call every time...wherease the Queen can commit any sort of foul and go scot free.

I would like that last 'foul' against the Cavs to be played on a continuous loop so that every single whiner like this can see that Pierce gets a ton of calls as well.  He just lowered his shoulder, charged Jamison, traveled, and somehow that was a foul on Jamison.

Pierce used to get a ton of calls, because his game was all about deception. Get guys in the air, taking those seemingly slow drives to the basket that make defenders wave at him...

Now, though, the NBA seems to think this needs to be corrected. That pump fakes are the devil's work unless you use them to go around the guy in the air for some kind of highlight dunk. So Pierce now gets maybe half the calls he used to. Every once in a while he'll manage one of those that just happened, but for every one of those there's two times he'll get hacked on the way to the basket and get a no call.

It's like that one play in Detroit during the ECF in '08 was some sort of rallying cry for the refs. Pierce gets his man in the air, and goes up so as to get contact and shoot...And he gets called for an offensive foul against the man who is in the air. It was ridiculous. It was preposterous. And apparently, every ref decided it served him right for daring to try to get to the line fairly.

On the other hand, you have LeBron who can literally do no wrong, and you've got Varejao against who no wrong cannot be done.

MMacOH, that last foul on Pierce was definitely a foul

That said, in watching the Celtics all year, Paul Pierce is seldom getting that call

Pierce has gone to the line less this year than any year since his rookie year and yet is taking more close shots as a percentage of shots than last year

How can that be

Easy, he has stopped getting the calls going to the basket when contact is made

It's been happening ALL year

Flopper-Jao at work. I bet this call went against the other team as well..when it was the Queen who fouled him.

Need more Rondo-creating-off-the-dribble in the second half. And makes from Ray.

Pierce gets less respect than guys like Scal or Giddens. He goes hard to the basket, gets killed, and no whistle, play after play. He also gets handchecked on the perimeter regularly.
