These guys are completely finished right now. Bot cant get the shots they want anymore.

Look at pierce today 4-8 shooting, 3-5 three pointers..

yes 3-5 three pointers is good, but only one shot inside the three point line??? who is he now ray allen?

Pierce has been on fire from 3 which has kept him from getting any, out of shape, injury criticisms.

This doesnt make me believe that hes ok though. Pierce has been off all year.

And when many thought Ray Allen was falling off a cliff as being a solid player, its actually Pierce and Garnett who look old, slow, and worn the hell out.

Pierce is looking like a sidekick scorer now. I want to believe its mostly his injury thats holding him back, but hes playing, and he says he feels good. Garnett is just a mystery, maybe hes just finished. I dont think he is but i think they both need to be held out 10+ games.

Although this can probably hurt us in the standings.

You can't improve chemistry by sitting on the bench...

Pierce had a great night against the Bobcats....now if that was fluke or not is yet to known.

I think his performance against the Cavs will give us some idea (not that I am saying the game will be a 'life of death' type of a situation for Pierce).

As for KG...idk for some reason I think he is looking pretty good. Let's get real...we won't have an 08 KG, but if we could get 75-80% of KG and have a more consistent Pierce and Ray then w/ Bench and Rondo/Perkz we are pretty good.

Sure. But chemistry is not the problem. It's motivation, and that is something that will change a LOT if you put someone on the bench.

Hitting the 3 probably gives him a chance to prolong his career a bit.

Pierce has got a problem with his energy level, and to me it looks physical not mental.  I blame the weird knee infections, which he also dealt with last year or the year before....He said earlier this year he "feels old" or "feels like an old man".

So now, when he say he feels good, he really means good for an old man.  And to me it looks like he only feels good after a good long rest, then he is energy level is quickly diminished again by small amounts of play.

I have zero basis for the following (except the knee infections), but it seems like a Lyme Disease type of thing......if you feel like you have mono but don't, one can start to suspect something horrible like Lyme, which, unfortunately, is hard to test accurately for (lots of false negatives and controversy, etc..)

A classic Lyme symptom is blown up knees (infection).  So that worries me.  I hope he hasn't done a lot of vacationing on Martha's Vineyard or the Cape...

I don't believe KG is in decline:  I think he's simply playing on a different knee than he played on his whole career, and it ain't as good as the last one....

Why do you say that? They get paid a lot of money and they are reasonably healthy. They need to get their mojo back.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Yes sir

The guy is injured. Let Marquis play until he's healthy.

I absolutely agree that KG and Pierce need more rest. Especially Pierce. Either cut their minutes (especially when the effort isn't there) or rest them on back to backs.

If Marquis and Finley are making greater efforts, Pierce needs to sit his butt down.

If these guys wanna coast until the playoffs, then their minutes should go elsewhere. If that means the C's finish the year with 49 wins instead of 52 wins, so be it.

Cosign. We now have a legit SF in Finley, and Marquis is healthy again. Both should be taking some of Pierce's minutes and giving him some rest.

I'd like to see more bench play, especially on the 2nd night of back-to-back games. Robinson, Williams, Tony, Davis, and Quis should all be able to help give the starters a break. No excuses.

And the key thing for me is the "especially when the effort isn't there" part.  That should go for everyone.  Doc seems to give players the same amount of minutes every game with no regard to how they are actually playing.

I agree with all of the above.  We're not going to lose at a higher clip than we already are....I'm not saying we will win at a higher clip starting TA or Marquis, or Finley (giving all 3 of those big minutes at least), but you won't lose less than now and you end up with rested starters to boot....KG' not playing all that much so I'm not sure I'd play him less, though I probably would play him a tad less.

Sometimes starting and giving big minutes to a backup results in really good stuff...like production, confidence and rested starters....

If Doc is mulling changes, I'd start by starting TA.  The only way out of this mess is through defense, so play defense and throw absolutely everything else completley out the window...Everything!!

This team is built around Pierce and KG. If either of them are not ready for the playoffs we are done. With that said, you have to play them now to get them ready. They both fought through injuries. KG is looking better each week, and Pierce looked great early in the season, he still has it when healthy, and he just came back from some time off. He said himself that it's tough to get into a rhythm when you keep getting time off. You have to go with them and hope it works out. As for playing Finley at SF instead of Pierce, well, if you play Finley 30+ minutes a game now, he will be done before we get to the playoffs. Also, Daniels is not fully healthy either, he can't hold the ball in his hands since he came back.
