Lots of fans have already left the building. Sad...really sad. :(
Yeh, dislike that type of fan. I could seriously never do that. Hate quitters.

If doc can use finley properly, he can give us some decent outside shooting.

  • Rondo = Good
Blown out by the Griz :')

lol we really need to change *something*! This isn't going to cut it come playoff time :D

Here's the rub: there's nothing we CAN change.

Time to start thinking about next year, folks.  If somebody has a compelling argument to convince me otherwise, please tell it to me.
I'm not willing to quit on a team with Rondo, Ray, KG and Paul.

Seriously, there's a lot we can change. I'm not talking personnel changes, I'm talking energy, chemistry, swagger, all that.

Look, I would agree with you if this were January and the Celtics had just finished getting swept by the Hawks, or had just blown a lead against the Magic or the Mavs.

But this is mid-March and this team has been given "wake-up calls" OVER and OVER and OVER again.  We lost to the Nets at home.  A couple weeks later, we got absolutely DESTROYED at home by the Grizzlies.  Energy, chemistry, swagger, attitude, focus...all of those things should have been fixed months ago.  MONTHS ago.

Stick a fork in 'em, they're done.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Do we need another outside player?

I swear every quarter is an adventure with these guys you never know what to expect.
Waiting for the other shoe to drop takes some of the fun out of watching the flashes of good basketball that pop up every now and then  :-\

very good summary of what it's like watching this season.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Over and above title hopes, these guys just arent even fun to watch anymore.  Totally uninspired.

Have to fault Doc somewhat for the lineup changes. He's been essentially running two separate teams. One unit goes out, gets cold, comes back flat. Keep 2-3 your best guys out there all the time. Mix and match, Coach.

ps what I dont like about Fin is that is another blessed wing option when Doc already isnt managing what he's got.

There is not enough koolaid in this world for me to defend what I just watched.  No effort.  No heart.  Very sad.

what i don't get is ........... exactly why are the Celts players so disinterested and unmotivated ?? are they just plain tired of playing the game ?

whay would they not care ? it's not like it's a team full of bad character guys. garnett's career has been based on his voracious appetite for playing the game with intensity. paul pierce, for all his struggles with immaaturity in years' past, has been, if nothing else, a warrior. ray allen is as professional as they come and i think perk is a very tough competitor.

the only two i question are rondo and wallace. maybe now that rondo has become maybe the best player in terms of being talented and coming into his prime, he has read too much of how great he is. he just oozes a certain lazy and unearned aarrogance to me - like he doesn't have to play hard if he doesn't want to.

and then there is rasheed wallace - he really has been a head case his entire career and i believe his basic nature is one of laziness and selfishness "the only opinion i care about is the people in my home" - meaning of course his wife and kids. it's not that i think wallace wants to sabotage the Celtics, not at all. it's just that he cannot overcome his basic nature, which other than a couple of seasons, has been his dominant personality theoughout his pro career.

this team was built as a grinder, which two seasons ago, they were so good at - but it's difficult to impossible to keep up that style of play successfully over several seasons.
