So as the season passes 60 games for just about everyone and we get to look back a bit, I think it can now be determined that those calling last year's draft one of the weakest in recent memory(like me) were pretty much completely and utterly wrong
Instead, what we got is a draft they may be considered, long term, one of the deepest drafts ever seen in quality young guards
- Brandon Jennings once scored 55 points
- Tyreke Evans has been so good the Kings decided to trade away a 27 year old guard that has averaged over 23 PPG for the last three seasons
- Stephen Curry, once given the full reins in Golden State as it's starting PG has been averaging 21 PPG, 7.5 APG and 5 RPG
- The Timberwolves are so happy with Jonny Flynn they have started him every game instead of a third year vet they signed for 4 years and $16 million
- Mark Cuban likes Rodrique Beaubois so much he said before the deadline the only player not on the trading blocks was Beaubois
- Ty Lawson has played so well in sooo mny facets of the game that many have commented that he plays like a grizzled veteran
- Darren Collison has stepped in for injured superstar PG Chris Paul and has ONLY posted numbers of 19 PPG, 8.3 APG and 3.4 RPG as a starter and have made pundits wonder aloud what do the Hornets now do with TWO outstanding starting PGs
- James Harden has been coming off the bench all year for the Thunder and is shooting 39% from three, 81% from the FT line and has scored in double figures in 28 of 62 games
- The Timberwolves own the rights to what most people called the best guard in the draft, Ricky Rubio, who is still playing overseas
- And there were others that get overlooked due to the depth of this draft and the fact that they actually play like....well....rokkie guards Jrue Holiday, Gerald Henderson, Toney Douglas, Wayne Ellington, Jeff Teague and Eric Maynor
So if you had to rank the rookie PGs how would you rank them?
