  • GOT IT!!!
I loved the energy down the stretch. That's all the fans want to see on a consistent basis.

What can you say about Ray at this point? The dude is so money.

Keep in mind that, for three and a 1/2 qtrs,n the C's werent doing anything to prove him wrong..

Just for giggles: Ray is finished and obviously can't play anymore.  We really just need to face reality that 34-year-old shooting guards can't cut it in the NBA.

If we play like this in Milw---we'll get killed---
Doc's gotta recognize when his team hasn't come to play---and sub some energy guys.

Problem is the energy guys kinda sucked tonight.

the bench was 3 for 21 tonight

what energy did you want Doc to put in tonight

the bench was awful in that second half

in reality---his legs are rested--because of the lack of minutes this past week....When he is rested he HITS these shots.

Did anyone catch the great exchange between Paul and KG in the last timeout before the Wiz's last possesion?

It was classic. Paul was trying to get in KGs face and he was like (Insert expletives) Hey Im talking to you!

KG then turns around, while screaming expetives and puts his forehead on Pierces and they just start shouting at each other.

If they play with that type of intensity and emotion for an entire ballgame (like I think they will in the playoffs) they are unbeatable IMO.

I actually feel bad for the Wizards.

Yeah.  They played hard and I was impressed.

Me too -- Wizards deserved to win the game.

Tough game tonight - Wizards were crushed by the Milwaukee Bucks who are only the hottest team in the NBA and a very possible 1st round opponent for the C's. They are a much better team after all the trading they did and have a nice foundation for the future (not to mention all that cap space).

I don't believe it will be a blowout tonight. The Celtics do not blow opponents out as a rule but are getting better at handling their business. I would like to see what the old pro Mike Finley has left in his tank.

The Forensic Basketball Evaluator (FBE) does have a note to write down here. Washington and Boston have had three common opponents in the last ten games.

vs New Jersey (Boston 0-1, Washington 1-0)
vs Denver (Boston 0-1, Denver 1-0)
vs Knicks (Boston 1-0, Washington 0-1)

Sunday games bother me for some reason. Boston has a poor record on Sundays the last couple of years.

Just the way I called it  :P

I'll have to look up the Wizards and see how they finish this year. Randy Foye, Andre Blatch, and Al Thorton is a nice trioka to build around. I'm thankful we avoided another embarrassing home loss on national TV but I have my doubts about the Celtics. They seem too slow and too small to compete for anything significant this year. If Ray Allen does not return next year, this team is in serious trouble.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Co-sign. Nate was bad tonight. Like Tommy said, if he's not going to shoot, why is he in the game.

At the same time he was the most animated Celtics player on the bench which shows me even when he's having a bad night he stays engaged. It sounds silly but these things stand out to me.

That was the best six minutes of ball I've seen our guys play probably since last season.  Even after watching them sneak up for the kill over and over, it still seems unreal.  Yeah, they've fallen short many times this year but man, they can bring it at the end like nobody's business.  Nice to get a confirmation that they can still do it when they have to (though I prefer a comfortable lead any day!).

By the way, did anyone notice the on-ball defense of Rondo during that stretch? I want to see that more even though he looked gassed at the end.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
They had a bad few quarters, but the team didn't quit. Nobody should quit on them when they're playing hard, even when the shots aren't falling.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."
