We need to sign some people.

We need some bodies. Danny needs to sign some 10 contracts or something. We won't have a small forward tomorrow to play LeBron. I guess it will be Scal vs James!

any worthy d-leaguers out there?  Probably could be better for us than some washed up scrub (like we usually sign).

Didn't the Red Claws trade for Morris Almond?  Isn't he supposed to be a pretty good Dleaguer?

he played for springfield, scorer but imo not an nba player
dee browns team is awful, i have free tickets and don't bother to go

I don't know but we hardly have a full roster and we need some bodies at least for a few games.

There have to be some small forwards in the D-League that don't suck. How many players do we have now? 13 with two out sick. That's only 11 guys. Is Landry going to play? Scal will foul out in two minutes and Tony gives up like 5 inches to LeBron.

Yes, he was traded for the Red Claws.

Yes, but he's mostly a volume scorer. Doesn't have the skill+mentality of a role player.

Best options from the D-League, grouped by type:

Classic big (stiff w/ bad hands):

Dwayne Jones - can rebound

Stretch big, combo forward (slow, bellow par rebounding, unathletic):

Rob Kurz - Scalabrinesque, less defense, more shooting

Athletic big (jumps high, runs fast, dunks):
Alexander Johnson
Alade Alimu

Big wings  (too slow to defend wings, too small to guard PFs):

Mike Harris (can't shoot version)
Cartier Martin (can shoot version)

Shot-creator wings  (no defense, ball-dominant):

Morris Almond
Reggie Williams
Carlos Powell

Defensive wing (very raw offensively):

Othyus Jeffers
Antonio Anderson

Defensive guard (very raw offensively):

Garrett Temple
Dontell Jefferson

If I really needed to pick one guy, I'd go with Martin, Anderson or Jeffers.

Sounds like nothing from the D-league.

Honestly, with Nate, TA, Rasheed, and Glen, I don't think anybody we sign needs to be worthwhile on offense.  If we need to sign somebody, sign a vet big or SF who can play acceptable defense and rebound fairly well.

DLeague signings would be pointless with Doc. He doesn't play young players like that...look at Bill Walker - seemingly played well last night but yet couldn't crack the rotation here even when PP was out.
Our best bet would be to fill the void with a free agent or hope for more buyouts before March 1st.
I have made my list of hopefuls in another thread

Damien Wilkins - doubtful but would be perfect
NOT LARRY HUGHES - too dominate on the ball to score.
Darius Miles - why not? it's only 15 mpg at most and mostly D.
Kenny Thomas - Could only be as bad as Scal if not better at the SF spot. Nice D and can rebound and post up.
