Nate Robinson will make his Celtics debut tonight against his old team when the Knicks head up to Boston to face the Atlantic Division leaders at 7 p.m., and the 5-foot-9 guard is eager to show his old coach that he can fill a role on a winning team.

“I’ve been a winner all my life and four years of losing takes a toll on you,’’ Robinson told the Boston Globe about his tenure with the Knicks. “[Celtics coach] Doc [Rivers] believes in me and each guy on the team, KG [Kevin Garnett], Paul [Pierce], Ray [Allen], all the way down to [Rajon] Rondo, they believe that me and Marcus [Landry] can help them win another ring.’’

Robinson had an up-and-down relationship with Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni, who benched the three-time slam dunk champ for pretty much the entire month of December, and the diminutive offensive spark plug is eager for a fresh start.

“One thing I respect about Doc, when we played the Celtics, the one thing he would do is show respect and say he loves my game, he loves how I play,’’ Robinson told the paper. “He told me I was going to be a good player one day. Now that I am here, it shows how much he really did respect my game and how much he liked me as a player. It’s a blessing to be here and [have] an opportunity."

After a four-and-one-half year run with the Knicks that produced zero playoff appearances and a 130-252 record, Robinson is glad to be with a team that only cares about winning.

“It’s just a sigh of relief to be on a team that just wants to win, win, win,” Robinson told the Boston Herald. “That’s all it’s about. I love that. I want to be a part of a great team, a great organization that has a lot of great history, and hopefully I’ll get to set some myself.”

I like that he included Marcus in that.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I like how he referred to himself in the 3rd person several times.

Evan thinks it's awesome when people refer to themselves in the 3rd person.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19
