Everyone on the team except maybe rondo has been around enough trades to know its a business.  Basically everyone really likes eddie as they should, great teammate.  its a business and the team is paid to win

That article doesn't really sound like the players aren't pleased with Nate.  Just sounds like they are going to miss House and are expressing uncertainty on how this move will affect the team.

A guy like Nate isn't going to throw off the balance of a veteran-ladden team.

The Celtics already have a strong mentality in that locker room and you know that the veterans are not going to let a young loud-mouth come in and disrupt things.

agreed. It would be a shot to Eddie if they said how happy they are to have a real backup pg, Eddie's a good guy, you don't do that to people

I think the fact that eddie has moved but Nate hasnt gotten there yet is also a piece of this.  Cause right now they feel like they lost a brother and dont have a replacement yet.

Win your games and this trade probably doesn't happen.  It's as simple as that.

Its a business--end of story, they don't have to like it.  these guys aint responding to coaching/first half.  Perk said after the game about ray: see how he play when he might be trade bait...the house/nate trade is dose of reality when you getting too comfy.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
It has mostly been said, but the team has remained essentially intact since summer of 2007--these guys were tight. Nate will find his way and Doc has a way of bringing out the best in his guards, especially at the point. Everyone including the team needs to give Nate a chance. Also, it's a contract year for him, so he's gonna play his grapes off!

Also, if Marquis doesn't go down for so long, this doesn't happen. Eddie and Marquis had some good chemistry going. When MD was out for so long, the one-dimensionality of EH's game stood out even more and he was far more hurried in his shots, so he wasn't as efficient.

With all that being said, while EH was the victim of bad fortune this year, perhaps it was for the better. While EH seemed like a great team guy and was held in high regard by his teammates, I love this trade. Everyone was far too complacent and comfortable before the AS break. Nate will bring an energy and versatility to this team that we badly need. Welcome, Nate.

Yeah, it had more to do with the departure of Eddie... can't blame the guys, must be tougher to lose Eddie when you've played with him for years.

They don't sound really happy about Nate but I guess it's due to Eddie's departure, they think more about him rather than Nate.

yep. a business to win games.

while only time will tell for sure, i suspect that robinson's game will help the celtics' second unit much more than house's style.

house was great when he was on, but fairly useless when his shot did not fall.

hopefully robinson will also bring speed to the second unit as well as attack the basket. as i watched the celtics beat the lakers last night (gosh, i really love typing that) it seemed to me that most of the offense on the second unit consisted of wallace chucking up jumpers or big baby trying to put back rebounds.

tony was the only player who really took it to the basket, and not too effectively.

i hope robinson improves the entire second unit's offense...which is fairly weak right now.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I think they just aren't thrilled about losing Eddie, as others have said.  They've seen Eddie come through so many times that it's hard to see that he's mostly been ineffective this year, with few signs of being the consistent bench scorer we need.

House was a huge favorite among the stars.  All that chest bumping at the player intos tells that story.

As for how they feel about Nate, well, let's wait till they play with him for a while before we read anything into that.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
The House is in foreclosure now, so I'm looking forward to what the mighty midget will give us...

I'm guessing it won't take Nate long to make an indelible impression on his new teammates...

I don't think Danny would have necessarily stood pat if we had a better record.
