Now that our roster is set for the second half of the season, the only changes that can be made are to the lineups. Everyone has seen how sluggish and tired the first unit looks--they need an injection of energy, speed & youth. Why not consider starting TA or Daniels in Ray's spot? Or even BBD for KG? I'd love to shut KG down for a few weeks if it were possible, but that just can't happen if we want to hold a decent seed for the playoffs. So let's try to rest KG and Ray, who I feel would benefit most from playing 15-18 minutes a night. It's how Shaq has stayed in the league the last few years, why not? Mixing up speed and youth with solid veterans on each unit may help our chemistry issue as the second unit has had better +/- numbers than the first unit. In fact,in the last game the second unit averaged a +8 per player while the starters a -4 per. In New Orleans, they were a -10!! We need to shake it up...

Of the two, I'd like to see Ray come off the bench. It would be interesting to see how he matches up with the other teams' second stringers. I think part of the reason why he's shooting at a low percentage right now is fatigue. He's just playing too many minutes. TA or Marquis could take over his starting spot.

Kevin Garnett is the team's best or second best player + the key to the Celtics defense. He needs to start.

Ray Allen is less important, the least important of the starters, but I don't think there are any suitable options to replace him in the starting lineup to allow him to come off the bench. I want a shooter in that SG role to balance out Rondo's poor jumper. The Celtics don't have that type of player.

I think Ray Allen still makes his largest contribution to the Celtics team by staying in the starting lineup too.
