we have 3 stiffs on the bench now

  Doesn't every team?

No, no other team has non-valuable bench players.

Only the celtics don't have NBA impact players 1-15.  ::)

This post is doubly funny if you check out my response to your post in the Leon thread.

Because, of course, other teams are dying to trade decent players for stiffs. All we could have done was pick up a mediocre player that's overpaid for a number of years.

Well, the cats just got Tyrus from the Bulls for essentially expiring scrubs. I would like to have seen Ainge do something like that.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

and the wiz basically gave up jamison for the last pick in the first round...ty thomas was traded for hardly anything...i would rather have thomas backing up PP than have scal carrying the gatorade cooler each game

I refer you to subsection 2.35A of the NBA CBA

If it becomes the case that a Boston Team offers team X series of players who match up salary wise, it is the duty of team X to  bend over and spread them for a substantial worse Boston proposal" .

Joking aside, i know we all think our players are the best, but we have zero trade value young players to package along with expirings. It's really no surprise teams took better offers, is it?

that basically stretches it a bit.

They got a guy they like in thorton (the young player with potential we lack to put in these deals, as good as we all know walker and JR are  ;)) and the pick.

i didn't know that. All that legalese is too confusing for me, so I generally wait for Roy Hobbs to distill the pertinent info.

Between Scals, House, TA, Giddens, Walker, Williams, and Daniels we had a lot of expirings on our team.  We weren't gonna trade Daniels which only leaves us 6 expiring contracts that we'd actually be willing to trade, and if reports are correct, we did trade three of them.  So Scals might still be here, but we did unload 50% of our expiring contracts for a decent bench player.
