Not much hope here. Undrafted out of college, he paid his own plane fare and hotel room to come to the Knicks tryouts (He had so little promise the Knicks wouldn't even cough up the $80 for the hotel room (at that price near NYC, I'm sure it wasn't on Park Avenue)or the cab ride.)

They liked his hustle and tenacity enough to keep him though. Wonder if the big spenders ever reimbursed him?

He's Carl Landry's little brother.

Two brothers traded on the same day in the NBA. I am not sure if this has happened before.

The Gasols were traded for each other.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

Why bother, we now have 2 open roster spots. plenty of room for buyout guys like royal ivey and tony battie to put us over the top.

The Gasols were traded for each other.

Marc was still in Europe at the time, though.

What's the point of taking back a nobody and giving up Bill Walker for that, who at least has some upside?

As someone who watched Marcus Landry play at Wisconsin, I've got to say that I'm actually kind of psyched over the idea of acquiring him in the Robinson deal. I'm not saying he's going to become a Hall of Famer, but he's a good player, and I definitely think he'll be able to crack the rotation better than Walker could. I mean, let's not judge him based on his playing time on the Knicks; they're not exactly the shrewdest basketball team in the NBA

Am I supposed to believe that a guy who has only played 17 games for the Knicks is going to be able to crack the Celtics' rotation?

I was reading a little about Marcus Landry because I'd never heard of him before yesterday.  Seems like he's the NBA equivalent of a walkon who scrapped his way onto the team over more talented guys.  I like that.

I don't know if he stands any chance of getting any meaningful minutes here, but an ultrahigh effort guy like that could at the very least be a good practice and locker room element.  And it's not like he'll play much less than Walker or Giddens did.
