This makes me so mad that you see these guys going out and trying to improve thier team while we sit back and say nooo were not to old! Were FINE! They are the Best Team in the NBA right now and they are looking for upgrades just was reading they are trying to get Cory Maggette from the Warriors. Could you imagine if they snagged Amare and Cory?! That team could very well be crowned the champs already. I really just wish the Celtics were out there looking for something. I mean what is the point of standing pat? We aren't going to win with this team as is. And next year its not like Rays contract is going to give us the cap space to sign anyone great and we will be in the same situation we are in right now. Please Danny Go get Kevin Martin then turn around and get Nate off the bench. If we do that I believe this team will win a Championship.

The Cavs were the best team of the regular season last year too. Didn't work well in the playoffs, did it? ::)

Cavs are overrated, they are still a bunch of roleplayers around LeBron. If they add a good player like Jamison they could get really dangerous, but even with a key addition like that, they are not the favorites to win a championship, so no need to panic, and even more now, since they still have the same team (LeBron + roleplayers).

True but it seems like they are trying to make the team they have much better. Today I woke up not feeling that from the Celtics. I mean we might be trying to get a backup PG but that is not the biggest worry to me on this ball club. But I guess we will see. And if the Cavs land Amare or even Maggette they will be much better.

Its not Danny who is about to croak on a panic sandwich, its the Celtic fans who are eating a whole tray of anxiety burgers!

I recall a Danny Ainge being traded for a subpar backup center, Joe Kleine and a non-scoring Easy Ed Pickney.  This was another desperate move to appease the bandwagon fans.

First of all i hope you weren't indirectly calling me a ban wagon fan and I am not saying do a desperate move. But there is no where to go but down with this team unless we do something. I mean say the Cavs get Maggette and Amare the season is all but a wrap to me. The Celtics as is could not beat a team of

Williams/West
Cory/West/Williams
LeBron/Cory
Amare/varejao
Shaq/BigZ (bought Out)/varejao

I'm sorry we just couldn't but if we could throw out a team like this

Rondo/Nate
K-Martin/Marquis/Tony maybe
Pierce/Nocioni/Marquis/Scal
KG/BBD/Williams
Perk/Sheed

We could very much stand a chance with them. A lot of scoring and good team D. I really am not saying do a desperate move. But if we don't do something now we are going to be screwed for the future.

You deserve a 100 TPs.

If DA doesn't make a move it's because he got out manuevered (Ernie Grunfield lol) or the C's are too cheap to take on contracts.  If he does make a move 1/2 of the fans will hate it prior to ever seeing them play as a C.  Then if it's a successful move it will be due to 'luck' like the KG and Rondo moves but, if it fails it will due to
'dumpster diving Danny'.  These are what I like to call bandwagon armchair QB revisionist fans and they remind me of our West Coast rivals fans.

Cavs lost in the Final 4 - because they could not defend Dwight Howard.  Shaq solves that ... he can stand behind Howard and take advantage of Howards tiny legs (like Perk does).

The Cavs were a 60 win team last year, and are still - Orlando was just a nightmare matchup ... the Cavs have improved their ability to handle that.

The way they crushed LA on Xmas day says more about their hopes than anything else.

Cavs had the easier path to the ECF last year, starting with the ridiculous and going nowhere Pistons in the first round. Then they got lucky in the second round because the Hawks were depleted by various injuries to key players in all 4 games. Sure, they swept them, but the series was closer than we tend to remember it, and it would have been a much tougher series for the Cavs had the Hawks been healthy.

It seems that they have improved against Orlando this season but don't forget that they played their first game against Orlando when Lewis was out (big factor), and that they won the second game in the 4th quarter, while Orlando did make a comeback after being down big. They lost in the 4th due to fatigue of the back to back, and Howard dominated Shaq so I don't see their problem as fixed (although I think Hedo was a big advantage for the Magic against the Cavs).

Also, these two games were on a back to back for the Magic while Cleveland had some rest the day before. And between the last 2 meetings remaining against Orlando, the Magic has yet another back to back game against Cleveland. The NBA is favoring Cleveland in their regular season matchups against Orlando.

The beatdown of the Lakers on Christmas Day means nothing (good game by the Cavs, too much complacency from the Lakers, move on), and the Cavs win against the Lakers in Cleveland neither, it's just regular season games. Sure, it's a boost of confidence for Cleveland and huge wins for the homecourt advantage race, but the Lakers still have better players and a better froncourt. If Gasol is still playing soft in the Finals, should these two teams meet, Cleveland would have the edge, but I just don't see Varejao and Shaq dominating Bynum and Gasol like they did in the regular season.

As of today the Cavs still are a bunch of role players coupled with the 2nd best player in the game. Not a recipe for success - in the regular season, yes, in the playoffs... not so much.

doesn't really matter what moves boston makes or what moves the cavs make. until the Cs can show  MENTALLY they can come out and play hard for 4 quarters, boston won't beat anyone of elite status. this team has enough talent to be much better than they are...with or without the injuries. some magic trade will not be the cure all for boston. this team is a championship team...they have won one...the way they have played is unacceptable and simply embarrasing to watch. they should have at least 38. 39, 40 wins right now even with key guys being out...all teams have key guys out. championship teams find a way to win

No more excuses. I think by the time they return from this western kicker, we will be able to tell what type of second half this is going to be....if they can come home 2-2 or 3-1...i will have some hope. if they lose all 4....forget about it. but just to trade to keep up with the cavs prolly wont be enough

many say the cavs are overrated...maybe but they might just need to have LBJ and a bunch of role players to win this year...boston has shown zero moxie to challenge...orlando doesn't impress me and the lakers are hurt. kobe to me wont be 100 percent at all this year. the cavs have to impress you by winning 13 straight without their #1 and # 2 point guards playing for the last month.

I have a feeling that the Cavs are going to the finals whether they make a move or not.  I think Lebron is just that good, and his supporting cast is adequate.  If they add another good player, forget about it.

I just don't see what the difference is between last year's Cavs and this year's. I don't exactly respect Shaq's game anymore and I think Delonte + Anthony Parker are a wash at the 2.

the cavs are going to add someone....amare, murphy or jamison. that makes them better right there. plus powe is going to be a playoff factor for them. i also think LBJ is on a mission   plus the east isn't as strong this season
