...if we get Antawn Jameson.

I hate to do it, but you might have to. KG is hobbled and not doing much for us, and Jameson is the better scorer/rebounder/and maybe even defender right now.

No way he's a better defender even at KGs current state he gets most the deflections aside from Rondo on the team. KG is needed because of his outstanding passing.  You put him in there with Jamison and Antawn will be getting tons of uncontested lay ins since unlike some of our other bigs he can actually catch and score without a wind up.

Jamison is a better offensive player by a long shot, but KG is still the superior defender.

If KG is going to play it should be with our best offensive lineup, Jamison fits a 6th man role very well.

I do agree if KG isn't moving well in a particular game Doc should and would leave Antwan in ahead of him.

Not gonna happen, KG brings the attitude and leadership... and Jamison will never be a better defender.

Plus the Baby Blue front court coming off the bench together seems VERY nice.

*on another note, this deal could give Donny another UCONN brother to snuggle with on the long plain rides. :)

i'd consider using KG as our 6th man, a'la kevin mchale.

Jamison has already won a 6th man of the year award, it just makes too much sense.

Yeah, and this is KG's team.  There's no point in making waves like that unless Doc thinks it'll light a fire under KG, though I don't think that's necessary.

If the trade goes down, KG and Jamison are both going to get big minutes.  After the first quarter who started and who didn't really doesn't matter anyway.

KG is not capable of playing D anymore.  we used to rely on him covering the lane with the D we play....  and he just cannot do it anymore.  I have seen countless layups while he just waves his hand.  He cannot move his feet to stay in front anymore and he can't jump to block crap anymore.

I know we have a lot of problems but to me that is the biggest one.

Nobody takes charges anymore like we used to when we had Leon and Posey....

Well whether you're right or not, it doesn't change the fact that KG is still going to play.  And if he's playing, Doc's going to start him, especially since Jamison has experience as a sixth man.

I think the more valid argument is that Jamison maybe should take a few of KG's minutes.

Still, I don't think we can treat KG's physical state as static.  He's 33, not 83.  It's quite possible his leg improves as the season goes on.

KG still starts.

Jamison becomes the 6th man playing SF/PF.

Wallace becomes more of a backup C.

If KG still looks like he can't jump or move laterally by the end of March you have to put Jamison in the lineup. At this point he is just as good on offense, probably better because he can finish around the rim still. He is also a very good offensive rebounder something KG can't do to much anymore .

  • Rondo = Good
KG starts and plays 25-30 minutes a game.  Antawn comes off the bench for 20+ minutes a game.  I don't think Antawn can play SF any more, but he might get some minutes there in a lineup with Antawn / KG / Sheed (nice length).
