How about Ray for Deng and Thomas?   Have Tony and Pierce split time at SG. Start Deng at SF. Thoughts?

Yeah I'd flip if we pulled that off, but theres no way that happens.  Chicago isn't giving up Deng.  He's 24 and a stud.

When I plugged it into the trade machine it was only 15 mil and change coming back to Boston but the trade worked anyway. So Chicago would get their cap room. I think the Bulls are more interested in signing Wade or Bosh this offseason. Obviously they wont trade Rose/Noah but I think they might consider trading Deng. Ray for Heinrich/Salmons/Thomas is a no go for me cause we are just not getting back even close to equal talent value.

I would take T Time and Kurt for Ray. Seems fair to me. Future starting lineup of Perk, Rondo, Thomas is very enticing. We would need to get a good shooting 2 guard via trade of cap space.  Could Maggette be had for Scal, T Allen, etc. expirings?

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/12888861/bulls-could-go-from-marginal-to-marvelous-by-playing-their-cap-right

Berger makes a point I've been banging the srum on here a bit, which is the Bulls desire for cap space should be preyed upon.

I think he totally overestimates the Cs appetite for Hinrich. I don't believe the Cs would do a deal like this with the Bulls (i.e. Ray Allen) for a package that included Kirk but didn't center around Deng. Hinrich will not be the main haul of any Ray trade.

I also think the appetite for Hinrich around the league is weak. Salmons could be movable, but i think the Bulls would have to sweeten the deal to get another team to give them back an expiring deal.

The big catch IMO would be Deng + Hinrich (or Thomas)....

I'd wait until about 2:30pm next Thursday before calling them.  Maybe the organization will come to its senses then.

I agree. Based on history, they'll likely continue to overvalue their players, and leave themselves handcuffed.

Meanwhile, you'd have to think that if LeBron or Wade AND Bosh could both sign max contracts to play with Rose, Noah and Gibson in Chicago, that would be the most attractive scenario out there. Yes, one guy could go play in Miami with Wade, but who else -- Beasley? Chalmers? Please...

Call me crazy but I think that you have consider New Jersey an attractive option for two max guys IF they get the #1 pick.  Then you have Wall & Lopez plus the opportunity to get a decent return on Devin Harris.

Chicago's situation would be a little more enticing but NJ could be interesting.

You also have the Jay Z factor. If you are a max contract and you sign with New Jersey you basically get to hang out with Jay Z all the time. Underrated aspect.
You also get to be there for the first season in Brooklyn, a PR bonanza. If Brooklyn has a top player, their jersey will be an easy #1 seller when it is first available. Brooklyn team caps will also be big sellers. I can also see a top player having Brooklyn logos on their sneaker line.

Brooklyn has street cred.

Did I mention I'm from Brooklyn?

How about

Bos Sends: Ray + Daniels
Chi Sends: Deng + Hinrich

Why for Boston

They get a young all star caliber wing and a real backup PG who can lock down opposing PG's and SG's.

Why for Chicago

Clear cap space and get Ray who they want to resign next year if they traded for him. So by doing this trade they can resign Ray for about 7 mil for a few  years and would still be able to sign a max free agent this summer. Daniels also provides depth for them for this year .

I'd be happy with the House and Scal for Ty Thomas deal (maybe we even throw in a pick). It has been said that they are getting tired of him (they suspended him for a game for activity detremental to the team). He would be the perfect player for KG to mentor.
Then we sign a vet pg coming off a buyout and we're ready to roll.

I'm not in favor of ANY deal that has Eddie packing his bags.

I can see it now with Lebron
Um yeah, sorry Jay-Z didn't mean to just walk in on you and Beyonce like that.  Um, no don't get up.  well maybe you could move over a bit, yeah that's good.  Oh, I got plenty of room to get in next to you, no problem.  Why, yes I am rather big ;) .  No, don't move over on my account.  I like it nice and cozy like this.  Hey, Jay, why don't go grab me a drink.

I don't believe the Bulls are willing to trade Deng, and I don't believe the Cs ownership are willing to sign up for that much long-term salary or luxury tax next year.

Although he is a great shooter I am getting tired of Eddie House. He is a one dimensional player that can only shoot. If we want to play good defense we have to get a wing player that can handle the ball. Basically we need to tailor our whole bench lineup to accomodate House.
We will have problems bringing in a true back up pg with house playing the 2 for the bench unit. So if we can trade him for a guy like Thomas, we can improve our future. Then sign a pg that will allow the second unit to score more easily because of better ball movement.
