This is pathetic

Really. Is that what the rest of the regular season is going to be like as we're (allegedly) on our way to another championship? Struggling against teams (like the Nets) we should be thrashing? Is this part of the Celtics idea of "pacing" themselves? This should have been one of those games where the Cs are up 20 at the half and can rest their starters the entire fourth quarter. This is the Nets ... the 4-44 Nets!!! I realize the game's not over, and the Cs could still smoke 'em -- though I doubt it, 'cause our team has no killer instinct (where's Larry Bird when you need him?) -- but at this point, a win tonight (by any margin) is going to seem nearly as lame as a loss.

I thought the Celtics looked like they were trying.

Honestly the coaches should have just told them to go under every pick. This would have taken off 10 points for the Nets. Also, Eddie's 3 should have counted.

That makes the game a 22 point win. I'll take that.

The Cavs had a really hard time winning against the Nets last time they met, and they were not missing a key player.

those things happen.  just happy they won.  basically they found 10 minutes of good basketball and it was enough to win.  hell the nets being 4-41 is amazing - you'd think that pure luck would give you a couple more wins (the real reason the sixers 9-73 is so amazing - at some point you'd expect to get lucky or for teams to stop playing hard against them). 

team is in a slog - just have to get through this, and hopefully get a little healthier.  Cashing in expirings for some help could make sense - not necessarily Allen's deal, but Scal's plus ...

There were alot of games that Larry Bird played in, where he waited until late in the game to end it.
Take one away from the Loss Column.  Move it over to the Win Column.

i don't count this game. only the win. it's tough for anyone to get up to play a team this bad. sometimes you are so open it throws you off. the defensive spacing is so bad that it throws off the offensive spacing. This game simply does not count.we got the win. now we can move on to a real game.

mavs lost at home to the twolves the other night (twolves are playing better, but that has to be frustrating for a mavs fan).

KG is still rounding into shape (we hope), pierce was out. a win is a win. if we play like that every night, especially the first half, we are in trouble, but like others have said, a win is a win. let's see how we play today, hopefully with pierce and daniels back.

Who cares?  It's a meaningless regular season game we won.  And who can blame the players if they don't play every regular season game like it was their last?  Management has come out and said again that certain players would be playing if it's the playoffs, but that they aren't right now because they're playing it safe.  Translation: the regular season doesn't matter.  If management is sending that message, it's hard to blame the players.

More importantly, this romantic notion that all champions played each regular season game like it was their last is a crock of bull.  The Shaq/Kobe Lakers and the Duncan Spurs teams clearly paced themselves during the regular season.  More importantly, while Larry Legend certainly had a killer instinct in the playoffs, it wasn't like he killed himself (particularly on the defensive end) every regular season game.
