PG   Darren Collison   Luke Ridnour
SG   Rudy Fernandez   Daqeuan Cook   Ime Udoka
SF   Luol Deng   Chase Buddinger
PF   Anthony Randolph  Kevin Love
C   Al Jefferson   Nick Collison

I'm not sure if Collison would start, but I think he would. Though Ridnour likely would get more minutes, especially early.

Randolph would be playing next to Big Al possible, I imagine Kevin Love would end up getting just as many minutes.
In terms of current ability, I would consider Anthony Randolph is the worst defender on your team. Teaming up with Big Al (second worst) defender is a bad recipe.

I like Randolph's defensive potential but he's a long way away from being a positive influence on any team's defense. Likely two seasons away before he becomes an average defender, another year to become a good defender and then you'll have something special on your hands. Playing alongside Big Al + Love isn't going to make his development (defensively) any easier either.

Then Love as the primary big off the bench and Collison as the fourth big. Very little defensive play between the four of them. No quality options for that second starting spot.

Collison is probably the best call, make him a 10-15 minute a night starter and play the other two big minutes off the bench. You might be able to find a trade for N.Collison for a solid defensive minded power forward and use that player as a temporary starter until Randolph is ready to step in.

I liked your Jeff Foster + Kurt Thomas selections. Foster will be very good backup for Howard next season and Thomas is a decent stop-gap signing until Foster gets healthy. Those guys give you a nice nine man rotation with Blake, Dunleavy, Gomes and Thomas/Foster off the bench. Impressive bench.

I've pretty much given up on Sean May at this point. It's a shame because he was quite successful in Charlotte when he was actually on the court. Unfortunately, I'm not convinced he ever gets back to that.

I'm looking forward to seeing the final rosters later today or tomorrow. Then we can see how each team matches up against the rest of the team's in their division and conference.

Last games Sean have been playing wuite good
I am not even thinking he will be as good as his good yeat
i just want 4 fouls from him, 4 points
and the capability of grabing a reboun

Knicks

Starters

PG: George Hill
SG: Ray Allen
SF: Grant Hill
PF: Zach Randolph
C:  Nene Hilario,

Bench

PG: Ty Lawson
SG: Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Matt Barnes
PF: Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham

Own rights: Nikola Pekovic
IR: Kyle Weaver Hill

Total 2009-10 Salary: $81,411,131

Some coaching strategies that will be used:

- Ray Allen and Grant Hill will be limited to 30 MPG tops to maximize their effectiveness
- Either Nene or Zach Randolph will be the center unless the team goes to a small ball when Martin will play center
- George Hill and Lawson will platoon at PG position
- The team's primary defensive line up will be George Hill, Anthony Parker, Matt Barnes, Kevin Martin, Nene
- Late game go to scoring will be to go inside to Randolph. Though he only has taken on this role this year with Memphis, the Knicks feel he is more than capable in a lineup like the Knicks can put on the floor with other three players being good three point shooters that should allow space for him to work.
- The come from behind, running small ball lineup will consist of Lawson, Allen, Barnes, Grant Hill and Martin

Management Strategies

- Ray Allen will try to be moved at the trade deadline as an expiring contract but if good young talent can't be brought into the fold for his contract, the team will make every effort to resign him to a two year deal in the offseason
- Kyle Weaver will be left on IR all year and will be given every opportunity to become the backup SG next year and Pekovic will be brought over from Europe given a lucrative three year deal next year
- Quentin Richardson will be renounced after the season if he is not dealt as an expiring contract
- The Knicks future is to develop both young PGs into high quality starter type PGs and trading the worse of the two in a year or two for rebuilding. Pekovic is probably the big man of the future for this team even without Nene or Randolph having had their 29th birthday party yet. The Knicks think highly of Weaver and Cunningham and will try to develop each into taking on important bench roles in the coming years

Those are the Knicks barring trades

Love them if you like

Hate them if you must

I won't be doing any bragging or defending of their capabilities or expectations

I like them and think them capable of winning 50 games though I don't see a championship anywhere in sight and think they are much better than the current Knicks
Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

so is this game pretty much over? I had imagined there would have been some voting or something on who would make playoffs, ecf and finals... Seems kind of silly to just have it die directly after last pick with no talk on final team rosters...

If you start a thread (probably with a link to the team rosters) I will vote. I'm sure others would as well.

It still seems wierd how it just abruptly died...

I definitely am not in favor of voting on the playoffs, etc.  I can tell you that the original intent of this (as explained in the rules) was to basically have a non-competitive time-waster.  As soon as you add voting / competition, it leads to people getting their feelings hurt, excessive lobbying and vote-trading, cliques, etc.  I have absolutely no desire to repeat the experiences of the CB draft here.

If others want to start a voting process, they're certainly entitled to.  However, I'd much rather see people informally evaluate their own teams and the teams of others, to see how they their imaginary teams stack up to their real ones.

Working on the rest of the write-ups as I type this and updating the originals so everyone will be able to make clearer comparisons ... I've had to work long rotations the last couple of days, but I'm taking the phone off the hook! ;)

I wasn't in the first cb draft. Did I miss out? Or is it just a lot better this time because I am involved :) :) :)
