Would you trade Ray for Howard and Dampier?

I love Ray. and I dont think this slump is his fault. Unfortunetly the Celtics are considering it so. Would you trade Ray for Howard and Dampier?

The Mavs, behind big spender Mark Cuban, are always buyers at the deadline. Nothing has changed this year, with the Mavs said to be targeting help at shooting guard in a deal that would likely include Josh Howard and Erick Dampier. from ken burger blog cbsnews.

I don't see why dallas would do this.

Yes, they need help at the SG position, but Howard and dampihir seem like an awful lot to give up for a half year rental that probably won't put them over the top.

As for us, i wouldn't do it because the only reason dallas is even entertaining offers for howard is because he's a mullet. He also would be quite oversized to play the 2, meaning we would have to move pierce to the 2 full time, which i don't believe he's capable of at this stage of his career.

Well Dallas might consider it cause they need a shooting guard. I would play Marquis and Tony at the shooting guard and have Howard back up Pierce at small forward. If you wanted to go big you could put Pierce at the 2. He is leading the league in 3pt%.

He also is pretty banged up I would almost rather have him on the perimeter for the rest of the year. 

If you get Dampier you have a another banger which is what we have been missing without Powe.

It's not a bad deal except the C's still would be without a backup PG.  Please for love of God bring in someone to give Rondo some rest.  My heart can't take Tony and Eddie struggling to get the ball past mid court w/o a TO.

What makes you think Howard, who they are only shopping because he's an idiot off the court and a cancerous individual who moans and whines about playing time, would be a good solider here and come off the bench?

my belief that Paul wouldn't be able to play the two has nothing to do with his offense, it has to do with his lack of quickness on defense. I don't think he can defend 2's on the permiter anymore, at least not on a nightly basis.

Wow a idiot and a cancerous individual i dont know him well enough to say   do you? It seems pretty common in todays NBA for players to have lapses in judgement.

Pierce needs to get to the perimeter. The pounding he has taken driving the ball to the basket is ridiculous. He doesnt get the calls others get. Any trade of Ray would (1) give Paul a legimate backup and (2) bring another strong rebounding interior presence around the basket.

We have Ray guarding opposing 2's now. Would that be such a dramatic dropoff to switch Pierce to shooting guard? Start with Rondo/Pierce then bring in Tony/Marquis you still have House if you need him.

With a hurting Garnett our interior defense is weak. We neeD REBOUDNING HELP.
