So we're really bad, apparently, we suck and we will not be champions. We are struggling and riding a very, very bad stretch.

So here's the fact I'm presenting to you:

A Boston team, on a very, very bad stretch, just took the no.1 placed Lakers, to a 1 point game.

And we're *not* contenders?

When we get our stuff together, we'll walk over them like we did in game 6 of *the* finals.

There it is.

until boston figures out how to close teams out..esp when they have a nice lead...they will not walk over anyone

As I said in the other thread, here are some positives :

Well, as ****ed and frustrated that I am right now after the loss to the Lakers, I thought it would be important to remind some positives :

- We got down by 13 points early and could have get blown out. Instead, we stormed back and Rondo showed why he owns the Lakers. The bench played great with Rondo and got us back in the game.

- KG looks good, slowly getting back to game shape.

- Pau Gasol went back to Pau Gasoft against us, good sign, he got bullied in the 2nd half and got so lost that Phil Jackson benched him for the last 5 minutes of the game (putting him back for their last offensive possession).

- We can clearly still contend with the best teams in the league.

- We won the rebounding battle 39 to 36 and 10 to 8 on offensive boards.

- Ray was cold once again but he played great D on Kobe for the entire game (even on the game winner). He can still defend elite guards one on one.

- Our defense was really good to great for, say, 46 minutes. Big improvement.

This loss sucks and I'm starting to get worried about our recurrent collapse in the 4th but we're clearly not done as contenders like people say we are. When Marquis gets back and we finally get some rest, I think we will start rolling again.

But I still wonder why the C's get away from all the things that make their success for 3 quarters in the 4th. Mind-boggling. No ball movement at all, running the clock down, turnovers, poor execution, missed free throws, too many threes (usually to start the 4th).

It sounds like a moral victory and we're way better than that, but considering how terrible this January month has been for us... I will take a moral victory and shown improvements.

We will get back on a roll with a little rest and the return of Marquis.

i love the optimism of the OP, but this team needs help. we have the pieces to do it, but we need help and we need someone to kidnap rasheed wallace for the next 2 and a half years.

agreed....and i do not mean to mis-interpret what you are saying, but let's hope we all remember what daniels is and is not. he is a very nice and versatile player who will help the bench. but the problems go deeper than him.

I know the problems go deeper than him but we lack players who can create their shot at the end of game. Well, actually, we could have gone to KG or Sheed in the post but...

Marquis brings good defense, and his ability to play the point guard will, in my opinion, free Eddie House tremendously. Marquis can also create his own shot like I said, go to the hoop, and he usually takes good decisions.

He won't solve all our problems of course and I would be glad if we could get Hinrich but Marquis will solve a lot of problems in my opinion and will be a key for our 2nd unit but also mixed with starters.

Will not happen if the Celtics "got their stuff together".

I know!

I know!

A healthy KG

A Ray Allen out of his slump.

and a healthy Daniels to run the second team offense.

How about a healthy KG, and an effective BBD?

The C's just don't match up with the Hawks whether they get their stuff together or not.

Tough series if it happens.

Won it before, will win it again.
