I must give ATL credit for beating us, but until they can beat CLE and ORL, (Or beat us in a Seven-Game series) they are not contenders to me.

It's funny that they have this much respect for us, though. I think we are in their heads more than they will let on.

Orlando just beat the Hawks by 18...at least we didn't get beat that bad on a back to back (104-86).I would like to know who does the scheduling, giving us 3 back to backs with the Hawks? Is it a Hawks xemployee?

Wow - thanks for that post, HC...once again, my point is made:

"Until The Atlanta Hawks can beat ORL or CLE, I cannot list them as Contenders. Read it and weep, ATL."----me.

And If they happen to meet us in the Playoffs, they may get a rude awakening..

np the game was never in question by Orlando ...the HAWKS haven't got any answers for D.Howard.Al Hofford is to short and Pachulia, well you know his game. I think Dwight went for like 30/19... high scorers for the Hawks were J.Johnson & Crawford both had 19pts ea..if you've held Joe Johnson under 20pts you have basically done a good job on him. They used a lot of team defense on him, also didn't give Crawford a lot of easy looks from outside.JJ.Reddick or whoever was on the flr at the time ran at him a lot to disrupt his rhythm.

Believe it or not Ryan Anderson's energy off the bench was key to the win with 16pts but his defense on Josh Smith was even bigger. They played a great overall game tonight.they've beat the Hawks 6 straight times.

I live in Atlanta. The thing you need to understand is that this is a TERRIBLE city for pro sports. College football dominates everything here. The hawks are fighting for the number 2 seed and yet all the sports stations talk about is national signing day, lane kiffin, mark richt, the new UGA defensive coordinator, etc.

So in 08 to drum up some interest after that playoff series the hawks started doing a "rivalry night" when the celtics were in town. Of course, the celtics never took that gimmick seriously, so now they are madder than ever.

I sometimes post on a hawks message board that I started posting in order to get info on going to Phillips arena and so on. People there are seriously upset that the celtics don't consider this to be a rivalry. They don't care about the magic or the cavs, they want to know if the celtics think of them as a rival. I guess when you haven't won anything, you have to build yourself up by creating some fake rivalry.

It's hilarious how the Hawks can beat the Celts 4 consecutive times, but continue to get creamed by every other contender they play. Crawford and Johnson only seem to go off against us for some reason. ::)

What bugs me is that they list the scores wrong. We didn't get beat by 30+ points in November. Think I would've remembered that one. You'd think they could at least get it right.

The first game wasn't 97-66, but 97-86.

I think the fact that our players can´t accept the Hawks as a rival shows that the Hawks are in our heads. Just listen to Pierce´s post-game interview, he said a regular season sweep means nothing and it would start 0-0 in the Playoffs. Sounds an awful lot like whistling in the dark, if you ask me.

I think we allowed the Hawks to make this a mental game, and we lost it. We have to stop with all the talk, show some humility, and start to just play ball, in my opinion.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Wow! its not that serious ATL. I'm happy for them, becaquse they improved. Sweeping the Celtics in the regular season (where the starters play less minustes for a less important game) means absolutely nothing...lol I could've sworn we swept them last year, and they also won in 7 games to the Miami Heat, and got swept by Cleveland...lol Shouldn't they be more worried and excited about playing and beating Miami (who they're tied with this season 1-1) and Cleveland (who's up 2-0) on them ???. lol

I apologize if someone has posted something about this. But I thought this was pretty amusing. They really are serious about sweeping the C's huh?

Good for them.  You dominate a contender and you get to brag about it.  No question, Hawks have the Cs number.
Celtics fan for life.

Really hope we catch them in the playoffs and we sweep them. That would really shut them up.

That would definitely kill them off. Especially since we won't boast about it but think of it as inevitable.
