Don't see a real need for big men on this team.  In my mind, we have 6 guys I'm comfortable playing in the playoffs and 4 that I'm OK playing big minutes (KG, Perk, Sheed, and BBD).  If anything, we're much shallower at the 1-3 spots.

If we were going to go big for some reason, I'd much prefer Battie to Blount.  Though defensive numbers may not prove it, Battie was (and likely still is) a dramatically better team defender than Blount.

Dooling sounds like a great fit though.  Can play some 1 or 2 and adds some more depth.

  • Rondo = Good
Get Dooling if he's healthy enough to play 10-15 minutes a game for us.

The other names mentioned were pretty lackluster.  None of the wings he mentioned are better than Tony Allen or Marquis.

Tony Battie wouldn't be so bad but as others mentioned we don't really need any more bigs at the moment. *knock on wood*

We tried to play the buyout lottery last year, and got Mikki Moore instead of Joe Smith.  It's a good idea to always know who is available at any point in the season, but I'm not holding my breath.

The difference is this year, the main bench was already filled out in the offseason.

Now, they are looking for the 9th/10th man type instead of needing a 6th/7th type man.

I think Smith was going to Cleveland whether we got Moore or not.

Out of the guy's mentioned by Sheridan I would say Ford would be my pick as a rental for the remainder of the season if he can keep his mouth shut and lose the thug attitude!

I would LOVE to see Larry Hughes (in a very possible Knicks Buyout) come to the Celtics and or Raja Bell + Anthony Randolph (in trade http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ylfd5es ) for Brian Scalabrine, Tony Allen, & Glen Davis from the Celtics.

The depth on this team is horrendous - when Sheed has been a fossil and Daniels is his usual injured self.  Dooling is an excellent choice if he is healthy - big, defends 2 positions, capable (at times) shooter.  TJ Ford is an excellent backup point guard if he can avoid putting up shots at the over-prolific rate he used to.

Jarvis Hayes is a useful swingman, good insurance for Daniels and Battie - hey no great shakes but useful defensively.

Now, they are looking for the 9th/10th man type instead of needing a 6th/7th type man.

None of these people interest me. TJ Ford would be great if he weren't such a knucklehead
