It would be a gigantic waste of a second round pick.

Waste of a draft pick, he wants to play QB and would be a project at TE/H-Back.

He doesn't fit the Pats offense of the past three years at all.

I guess it must depend to some degree on how he does in the combine and workouts.

Also in Belichek's mind one thing that will make a difference is how well he thinks Hoyer is progressing.

Also it's difficult to argue with the crowd that says "Why on Earth take Tebow in the 2nd if you could take someone like Daryll Clark out of PSU in the 7th or whatnot"

Obviously to some degree it matters who is available when they pick.

If they pick him while Gearhart is on the board and then he gets picked next I'll be ticked.

This is my point.

Brady's not getting younger with a messed up knee. I think it takes a lot of guts to go with Hoyer as your single backup.

The wildcat is a weapon

The man is smart as all hell. He won the top award for top student athelet this year and Belichek needs smart guys.

He's a leader who played in a lot of big games. He'll never get arrested or walk away from a coach talking the way some guys, both young and old this year did.

So if he has a good week of practice at the Senior Bowl, good Senior Bowl itself taking at least a good deal of snaps from under center, shows he can play to some degree in a pro set, has good work outs, shows up with fast times in the 40 and shuttle run, lifts well, interviews well, and throws the ball with good accuracy, zip, and strength in workouts and at the combine

it would be difficult to argue with all that.

I'd rather take that late 1rst than pay a lot of money for limp arm Bradford at the top of the first on the latest Notre Dame bust. I am 100% certain that between Clausen and Bradford one of those guys gos bust big time, if not both, setting a franhise back 5 years.  I don't understand why teams play QB roulette like that.

Given Hoyer's performance when asked to play and also that Belichick held on to him as the only backup behind Brady during a year where Brady's knee was a bit of an uncertainty I think the Patriots think very highly of Hoyer and won't be wasting a 2nd round pick on a QB

And that doesn't even include the fact that they may not even look at Tebow as a pro QB as many teams aren't and I've seen Tebow projected as the 3rd best QB in a bad QB class and seldom have seen him projected higher than the 3rd round

I say with the first round take Sapp out of Clemson and then with the two picks in the second round take a RB and an offensive lineman

I don't think I've ever seen such a wide spectrum of opinion on a player.

I definitely don't think it's like drafting Crouch.

You'll get a lot of buzz just like Philly got a lot of buzz with the Michael Vick signing. But after the buzz wears off, you'll regret it. With the way Pats got embarrassed against the Ratbirds, the last thing Pats need is QB in 2nd round.

If they find out he runs faster, cuts better, seems as smart as, as driven as, stronger than, quicker than, and turns hips better than Edeleman, most of our RBs, our TEs and our LBs and DBs I'd be fine with picking him.

If he runs a 4.7 that's one thing. But if he runs a 4.45 that's another

My prediction on Tebow and some may not like this so I'm not trying to be mean or antagonistic it's just my opinion but Tebow will be a long time NFL backup that sees very little playing time ever or will have a cup of coffee career and be done in three years

I don't ever see him becoming much of anything in this league

  • Rondo = Good
Only if they really think he can play TE and he is amenable to moving to that position.  We could use a good TE.

True, but it would have taken a visionary to see what happened to an after thought 6th rounder from Michigan with an unremarkable college career.

Then of course there was a guy who played at Northern Iowa who was bagging grocieries and then went on to win a Super Bowl and lose another

And there were plenty of can't miss guys that did nothing but cripple their team. Shuler. Leaf. Cade McNown, Alex Smith, Joey Harrington, David Carr, JaMarcus Russell

If they spent anything higher than a 5th rounder on Tebow, it'd be a waste.

A: not too excited.

QB is low on the list of the Pats' needs.
Celtics fan for life.
