Does anybody know more specifics about the injury? Is it Achilles or Plantar or a stress reaction type thing?

There are so many things that a sore foot could be...

I believe it was a toe. Thought I read/heard that the injury concerned the "forefoot", whatever that means.

forefoot worries as a stress reaction....Toe probably is a better scenario. I guess I will hope that's what it is

BOSTON -- Boston Celtics forward Rasheed Wallace sat out Monday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks with a sore left forefoot and may miss up to a week, Celtics coach Doc Rivers said after the game.

Wallace, who injured the front part of his foot during Sunday's win over Toronto, underwent X-rays after telling Rivers he couldn't play Monday night and, while the tests were negative, the training staff suggested some time off.

this definitely worries me....this sounds like a stress reaction type deal. I hope they do an MRI before they let him start putting a lot of pressure on his foot.

I believe it was a toe. Thought I read/heard that the injury concerned the "forefoot", whatever that means.

"Forefoot" would include the five metatarsal bones, fourteen phalange bones, and the soft connective tissue. From the language, I'd lean towards a stress-fracture type injury, which can be very minor, or quite limiting, depending on where it is and the severity. Where it did NOT show up with x-rays, I would assume it's very minor.

My GF had a stress reaction in her toe, it can be very bad news. It all depends.

Absolutely ... depending on the location, even a small stress fracture in the forefoot can severly affect gait and mobility ... and for a considerable amount of time. Let's hope it's not such.

if there is any possibility that it is a stress reaction (which is one step before a fracture) I would put him on the shelf until the All Star break..

him and KG for that matter.

although, as a fan, I really want KG back for that next ATL game. I'm tired of losing to that team.

Gotta love it. We get post after post after post about how we need as many seasoned vets as possible because we can't waste time developing youth when we're in "win now" mode. Now, whenever one of the vets misses a game everyone worries that it's a long term problem (if not career-threatening).

By the way, with Sheed being a little out of shape, couldn't someone have proposed gout as a possible diagnosis?

Not yet. Should I be? Is it worse than Paul's knee was?

You can't fool me. That's not Sheed, it's Tom Brady before the Super Bowl vs the Giants.
