Irrelevant.  Even if Rondo hits the two free throws and the Celtics win the game, the gamblers still win against the spread (7 pts).  The refs made sure that the game stayed close.  Very professional point shaving job.

Nice also that the officials put a full 1.5 seconds on the clock after Rondo was fouled with about 0.3 seconds left.

There was at least 1.3 seconds left on the clock when Rondo got fouled.

The Celtics were beginning to pull away and then the officials made 2-3 completely bogus calls to let the Clippers back in the game.  I'm going to find an on line bookie and place a bet on the Clippers vs the spread.

I'm gonna start another thread called, "There Might Be A Close Game Sometime This Season Where the Refs Make a Call in Closing Seconds, And I Won't Like it, And I'll be Able to Reference Wut I Said b4, Unless it Doesn't Work Out Negatively, in Which Case I Will Let my Thread Fade Quietly Into The Distance".

Its a little wordy, I know.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

That made me laugh a little bit.  Why can't I give people more than one TP per hour?

I called this game in the middle of the second quarter.  I think some poeple here are too young to understand the concept of the spread.

Not that. People don't like to question the integrity of the league. NBA would never cheat.....oh wait (1985 Patrick Ewing draft folded envelope) And NBA referee would never bet on games...... Oh Wait (Tim Donaghy)

So, how did you like Donaghy's book?

Haven't read Donaghy's book.  But I am waiting for the next round of NBA gambling allegations.  It won't come from the NBA of course, since Stern is not interested in catching crooked referees.  He's primarily interesting in convincing the fans that there aren't any (except Donaghy, but he "acted alone").

The Celtics were in the process of building momemtum in the second quarter and then three really bad calls in a row destroyed theat momentum and allowed the Clippers to stay close.

Actually, Rasheed's missed dunk was a 5 point swing.  :D

Yes, and Rondo's missed free throws lost the game.  But all the Clippers had to do was lose by less than 7 and the gamblers were happy.
