Maybe its just this week and last, but I've noticed Rondo's moves being used by other PGs. I don't wanna give Rondo all the credit for these moves, b/c anyone that can handle the ball can do them, BUT, he does use them EVERY game.
I saw Andre Miller do the fake pass with the right, spin around and hook layup with the left. Derrick Rose did the same move twice in the past few games. I can't remember the other one, but someone else did it as well in a top 10 play.
Maybe people are seeing what fancy moves you can get away with(without traveling) and are using them b/c they see how effective Rondo has made them...i dunno

I love Rondo's moves, but I will take Deron Williams crossover any day of the week
Can't stop, Rondo!

people are using that fake at least since the eighties. I Know I did, and i'm not all that creative, so i must have seen someone else do it. No idea who, though, thinking about it, it may have been pete maravich. Maybe someone older or with more knowledge about these things can clear it out.

It was bound to happen... At least Rajon has put his stamp on it.

Isnt copying the sincerely form of flattery? I thought the move will be ignored by this point but.....

Hey...I dont care how it gets done...as longs as it does.

Williams might have a great crossover but I will take Rondos speed and desire.

That is a playground move since the 1960's. Some 65 year old playground legent from Harlem should be filing the complaint for having HIS move stolen.

Rondo has elevated it to an art form due to his tremendous hand size, which enables him to pull it off so aggressively and therefore convincingly, time and again.

At least he's getting results from that move this year.  He used to burn his man and never finish the play, or as Michael Jordan would say "a million dollar move with a 10 cent finish".

people copy what works.  Rondo just does it more effectively than anyone else right now.

Hakeem made it pretty popular back in the day only instead of laying it up he put it in a baby hook shot.  Tony Parker used to do it as well.
do it

To repeat what others have said, there was nothing original in Rondo's move.

Funny, I thought this thread was going to be about the refs "stealing" this move from Rondo.  He was called for traveling the other night when he did it the same way he has dozens of times.

I'm wondering what will happen the next time.  Did the refs decide  that it is now a traveling call?
Yup

I may be wrong, but I thought I had seen some old footage of Cousy doing that move way back when.

They called him for traveling on that move in the last game---which the replay clearly showed it wasn't....but those refs made numerous BAD calls against the C's....much like the Philly loss.

Funny when I first saw Rondo do that I was like aw he stole j-will's move. Anyone find old King's highlights that knows what i am talking about?

This move has been around for years but Rondo has put his spin on it and its pretty effective. He should throw in an actual PASS once in a while though. He doesn't go behind the back often so eventually teams will ignore the fake and hell be called for a lot of charges.
