I saw Fantastic Four and it is definitely worth a watch.   Keep in mind,  I am biased and love Comics.   I do think the Marvel movies have been getting worse, but I liked the latest Captain America and Fantastic Four.

Anyone seen Fantastic Four? Is it worth seeing? I've totally fallen behind all the Marvel content now, I fell behind the TV shows, then felt I had to watch those to enjoy the latest movies, then I fell behind on those too because I haven't watched the TV shows yet  :( So haven't seen Captain America Brave New World, Thunderbolts, or Fantastic Four. I think I missed Black Panther 2 as well.
I liked all 3 of those.  Fantastic 4 is good and you can watch that without having seen any other marvel movie as it takes place on a different earth.  You should watch brave new world before thunderbolts though.  I liked thunderbolts better of those 2 but FF is the best of the 3.   Other than Sue being too powerful not many complaints with it.

I was thinking of going to see that tonight.  Local theater has half price movies on Tuesdays from October til May.  But it?s too [dang] cold to go back outside!
Yup

Thanks, TP. I'm bingeing Hawkeye now because a) it's only 6 episodes; b) Yelena is in it and she is in Thunderbolts. When I'm done I will watch Brave New World and then Thunderbolts and finish off with Fantastic Four

Saw Fantastic Four and I thought it was entertaining and the better of all the other Fantastic Four movies, but not great or anything like that. Also saw the new Superman but besides the great acting job by Lex Luther actor, i didn?t think it was the strongest film. The first half dove too deep and too quickly about the character but the second half was more entertaining, but still felt more just a high budget movie.

Lastly saw the latest Naked Gun and that was very entertaining. They did a good job with the original movies unique style of comedy. Not a full lol movie but worth to watch.

Eddington - WOW.

The call back to COVID that I was not ready for.

The town of Eddington, New Mexico acts as a microcosm for the U.S. in 2020 as the town spirals into insanity. The movie dramatizes the craziness - but not by much.

Not a comfortable watch for the people who lived through it, but one I think will age miraculously as future generations who didnt will look back with morbid curiosity about what the pandemic was like.

I'm watching One Battle After Another.  I'm only 25 minutes in, but I'm thinking I may not be the target audience.

Just re-watched Rounders with Matt Damon and Psycho KGB (Malkovich).

I talked to a friend who understands the poker jargon and what was happening during the first hand when Mikey lost everything and then the last hand at the end. I enjoyed the movie a lot the first time I watched it without understanding the poker details, but it was fascinating to understand exactly what was going on between Mikey and KGB at the end.

Two things that were totally unrealistic though .......... KGB's cookie tell was way too obvious for someone of his stature.
Also, what kind of place (in NYC no less) cashes a personal check for $10,000 in the middle of the night ?

I thought Fantastic 4 was entertaining enough . Much better than Superman which I thought was just straight up a BAD movie. What in the world is James Gunn doing ? I?m not a big comics guy but he makes the character tee look really silly and a whiner and both him and Lex have really strange monologues . Superman cries emotionally about waking up and putting one isn?t off in at a time or something . Just really weird. Not how people talk in real life.
The. I see a Superman trailer and she is saying ?Truth , Justice, Whatever? when this version of Superman ne er says anything about ? the American way?. Then there?s Krypton the dog p---ing on Superman?s face on a newspaper? Very strange . Literally potty humor. I don?t get this dude?s mind AT ALL.
Plasters himself all over this comic ? universe?.
Everything so far in this world is wacky and irreverent characters. I find Gunn very unlikable. Calling out both Burton and Nolan?s Batman movies as bad. Shen he?s not being a direct jerk he?s being passive aggressive. I think Netflix or Paramount ( whoever ends up in charge should dump this guy fast.

If you want some laughs and don?t want to have to think much, go see Fackham Hall.  Very silly, low brow British comedy.
