"Late Night with the Devil" - very fun and very creepy. Best horror flick I've seen in a couple years.

This was fantastic, especially for anyone who loves 70’s occult horror.

"Furiosa" is terrific. A worthy prequel to "Mad Max: Fury Road" and one of the best action films in years.

Too bad it's bombing at the box office. I guess audiences would rather gripe on reddit about the low quality of tame big budget films instead of going out and supporting an actual good one.

I needed some brainless nonsense last night and watched Atlas on Netflix starring JLo.  I had very low expectations and they were slightly exceeded.  Fairly cheesy, but decent enough action and effects.  I just had a hard time seeing JLo as her character and not as JLo but that’s ok.
Yup

All You Need Is Death was a fun film, albeit a fairly uneven one, but nice to see some independent Irish horror getting some wider distribution. Excellent soundtrack as well.

Inside Out 2 is quite entertaining, particularly for a sequel.

It?s a downer that movies aren?t doing well in the theatre . But I?m part of the problem. I?m a movie nut but since I don?t have kids and almost all my friends have kids grown enough to go with them I don?t have the same group experience anymore.
I have amazing friends and a big group of them but I find the movie experience depressing.

you mean you didn't buy JLo as essentially the smartest person in the world

Just saw Monkey Man on Peacock. Supposed to be one of those gritty action movies like John Wick but in India. They set the vibe really well and the action/fighting scenes worked really well with the music and cinematography. The action scenes was too far in between with more of an action drama instead of pointless violent action.

I would recommend for the fighting scenes alone and if you want something slightly more than just bloody violence.

All the Way is a pretty compelling look at the Civil Rights Act and the election of 1964. All hail Lyndon Baines Heisenberg

Dev Patel apparently got some rave reviews for his performance...this is on my list to see.

"Longlegs." This is a prime example of a film that simply failed to live up to the hype. It was marketed as this generations "Silence Of The Lambs," which, looking back, is almost laughable.

I was entertained enough, and would probably be inclined to give it a 8/10 if not for the failure of expectations due to the marketing puffery. 7/10.

That's how I felt about Get Out, which I luckily saw before the hype.  It's a good movie.  It's entertaining and has more meaning that most horror movies.  But, it's not a "great" movie in my opinion, and certainly not one of the greatest of all-time.  That results in me feeling resentment toward the movie itself, which is completely unfair.

I completely agree. I remember Rolling Stone putting out a list for The Best Movies Of The 2010's. I believe Get Out was in the Top 5. Wild. Like you said, it's a fine movie, but it simply has no business being so high on such lists. Moonlight is another entirely overrated one.

Monkey Man was really good. The Last movie I watched was the mediocre new Ghost Busters movie... It wasn't bad but not good either. I would rate it watchable....
