10 minutes ago I was asking myself what the hell is wrong with rondo. Is he sick? Is he hurt? Did he just break up with his girl? Or is he just being lazy? On defense it looked like he was just letting people go by him and on offense he was no where to be seen.

The past 5 minutes have been pretty impressive though as he has picked it up, so I'm not sure what to think

See above post.

He's 23 with a very special, very unique game. That's all there is to know about Rondo.

That's the frustrating part. We all know what he is capable of. He could be an elite pg, but he needs to stop showing only flashes of brilliance. Show it ALL game!

You make it sound like a break up with a long time girlfriend. lol, chill a little. He's not playing well at all, and the kicking it out when he's got a wide open layup p---es me off too, but be grateful. He'll improve this year.

the negativity around this place absolutely sux lately.  the team is in a slump and people are acting as if it is all or nothing.  its ok to be critical, but people around here are making irrational posts, like it is life or death with each game.  not to mention the team playing less than 15 games this season.  rip me if you all want to, but it sucks around here!

Going negative about the negative huh? Bold move big red...bold move.

... and all the trade threads ... what the heck happened to loyalty and supporting the team you love? Man, when things are down, the answer is always "Trade them!" ... it's nuts. All I can say is I pray that the Celtics don't read CelticsBlog, cuz it's enough to discourage anyone! I'm with ya, DL ... as usual. Have a great turkey day my friend. ;)

Yeah, I feel like I have been doing a lot of sticking up for players (especially Rondo) lately. I guess I was a little hard on TA earlier, but that doesn't really have anything to do with how this season has gone.

I get the 'Rondo should always play full speed' thing, but it's tough to go full speed all the time, especially when you are a player like Rondo who always sees a step ahead. He may not be playing at his potential all of the time, but when it comes to crunch time, he brings his best. The knock on him has always been that he doesn't try against lesser opponents, but is so great against the best PGs. Frankly, I like knowing we have a guy who is going to go all out when it really matters (playoff time)...

Well, if you are done with Rondo, do you have a spare 50 million or so for his buyout?

Another good win for the C's! We actually played lockdown D for the first few minutes of the 4th.

It's two in a row..may not be blowouts, but they count. I'll take them.

Remember - last year at this time our C's were in the midst of running that 19 game win streak, and with a much more inexperienced bench...

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Look. Rondo is no different than the rest of us. You know how you go to work, and while you are there many days 8 or 9 hours you might only work 2 hours. And some days you are there all day and hardly work at all. Rondo is no different. He goes to work for 48 minutes and puts in 10-15 minutes a game. I guess he thinks that is enough. His act is really wearing thin. Oh, there is one big difference: next year rondo will be making $11 million and none of us will.

Rondo was pretty stinky in that 3rd quarter, but he was great in the 4th and solid in the first half.  Strangely he ended up with totals almost identical to his season averages: 10 pts, 7 assists, 4 boards, 2 steals and 3 turnovers on 50+% shooting, basically just one bad pass more than what he's been giving us this year.

Yes he can give us more, but the offense isn't really geared that way.

The main area for him to improve is on D. He could do a bit better crashing the boards and keeping focused in our zone defense, as well as a bit more solid man-to-man, but I haven't been as disappointed with him in this area as most.  I think as such a scrutinized player, his defensive failings are being over-emphasized.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger
PF: Pau Gasol/Al Horford
C: Yao Ming/Tyson Chandler

Again, I was at the game, where was his solid first half? I believe he ended it with 2 points, 2 or 3 assists and 2 rebounds. And at least once, the 19-year-old rookie starting point guard for Philly blew by him like he was standing still. Rondo played hard for 10 minutes tonight. And yes, he was the difference in the game. But if he gives us 25 hard minutes a night this team will be blowing out scrub teams like Philly and the Knicks..
