Cman and Bahku,

Thank you for your words of encouragement!

I've decided to start fresh and "become a student" again.  Today I went to Office Depot and bought things to organize my study materials.  Paper, pencils, folders, dividers.

I ordered a few books and should be receiving them today.  The first one is a basic math review book.  Hopefully that will give me the basics on stuff like exponents, polynomials, lines...even arithmetic.

Kaplan and Princeton will also be a part of my review.

I started my "pregame warmups" by going through some 'easy' questions.  It helped me boost my confidence a bit.

It's going to be a long, tough journey.  But I hope I end up like the Celtics usually do-- ON TOP.  =)

Good luck, green tea.  As long as you remain focused and set up a system of time management for studying that you can abide by, you'll be fine.

Good luck!
Definitely read through either the Princeton or Kaplan book.  They give a lot of tips for how to take the exam (for example, if you don't know the answer, but have to guess, it will be helpful to eliminate as many of the multiple choice answers as possible before you guess, thereby improving your chances of guessing right).
Celtics fan for life.

I haven't taken a math class in about 15 years.  And I'm deathly afraid of the GMAT.

I took a look at a few practice problems, and I didn't even remember things like how to calculate the area of a triangle...or how to factor binomials.

I'm even afraid to take a practice test, for fear that I'm going to score a 400.

Any tips? Advice?  Words of encouragement?

I guess the positive side is that there's nowhere to go but up!
Practice helps decrease dread.

Don't forget that math involves a lot of trial and error, and everyone gets things wrong. Some just persist until they get the right answer and repeat that until it becomes habit.

Expectations do skew scores.
