So I just got home and looked at the final score.
Let me guess the starters came out listless on offense and the bench couldn’t bail them out?
The defense was nowhere to be found?
We couldn’t shoot the 3s and they torched us from 3 point land? FT shooting was bad?
A Suns player, probably from the bench, went off on us?

lol pretty close... Rondo played well, he just didn't attack enough, KG played well, Ray could have played well but he didn't shoot much. Pierce played awful and threw up tons of bad shots. The defense was non-existent. We missed tons of 3's and free throws. The Suns made tons of 3's and free throws. The refs announced that they loved Steve Nash around halftime and after that point they called fouls on us if he tripped. It was just an all around terrible game. It was surprising that it was that close.

TP. Thanks for the succinct recap. I hope they bounce back tomorrow but looks like they are sliding quickly back into the bad habits from last season. A bit early to worry but it makes me very uneasy.

Celtics will be ok. Just one loss. Suns had to play a Great game to win. Every once in a while a team will not miss no matter how good the defense is.

We are still undefeated on the road. Put it behind us and take it out on the Nets.

Terrible inconsistent calls with charges. A little more star favoritism with Nash etc. And why did Sheed keep throwing up 3's??  What was he like 0 - 7? I could tell he was frustrated but the bench played sorry. Quis should have ran the offense from the start of the bench players, not Eddie. Every 3 Eddie threw up was with him also running the offense. I hate seeing a loss with so much talent ya know.
Can't stop, Rondo!

Oh yeah, Jason Richardson was like 38 for 40 shooting I think. With 17 3's made... something like that.

Forgot to ask was there a furious final minutes of the 4th quarter rally that was ruined by a momentum killing turnover?

I did not see game, but it seemed like every time PHX needed a basket, they got one. Just timely buckets.

Jason Rich did most of his damage early I believe.

No, he did plenty of damage in the 4th quarter too.  He completely outplayed Pierce and Ray Allen.

Celtics outplayed themselves in a big way ... missed layups like crazy, missed free-throws, missed threes, (and way too many taken), and did not defend the perimeter. The Suns played their "A" game and the C's played their "C" game ... the refs were really horrible, too ... led by Spooner and Capers, of course, (ouch!).

The Celtics are a much better team, but they just didn't show up tonite. KG looked good and so did Perk ... that was about it. They were going "three-happy" from early on, and Doc even promoted it in the 4th quarter by leaving Sheed in at the end instead of Perk, even though they should have been pounding it inside, not launching the long-ball.

Hopefully this will be a wake-up call ... they were bound to have a "down" night, just wish it had been further "down" the road.

This team sucks. They play no defense and they shoot too many threes.

Oh wait we're the Celtics, not the Suns. So why did we play like them?

so frustrating. i hate the suns. amare is a disgrace. the guy is an absolute beast on offense but you would think tyronn lue is guarding kg under the hoop. i have never ever seen someone easily tip, guide ,finish lobs, put backs an alleys, that garnett got right in front of the hoop.uggh. i really liked how kg brought it inside some.
what awful d by the c's though. it wasn't just nash burning rondo. dragic did it a bit too. c's only got crazy on d when it got down to 2 or 3 in the 4th qtr. i'm thinking, where was this all game?
rasheed can't be taking SOME of those shots. shoot all you want if yo are open but he rushes a lot of these. i hope they can reign him in just a tad. he also looks very slow out there. can we expect he'll get in better shape. i thought i saw somewhere mentioning sheed had some extra pounds since last year.don't get me wrong i'll take him if he packs on another 10 but i was just hoping.

We lost this game for a few big reasons.

1- Our free throw shooting is awful. 50% just isn't going to do it. Perk and Rondo better shoot 250 free throws a day through this season after practice.

2- We didn't play defense

3- and most importantly, Alvin Gentry has naked pictures of the refs and some hookers and so the calls went ALL the Suns way. What a horridly one sided game...

Yeah maybe that's why we lost..we tried to play like them instead of just doing what has been our staple-defense.

And the missed free throws did hurt.

Just a horrendous team effort tonight at times when we needed it most.  They out hustled us and that ticks me off.  Can't blame this on any one or two people.  We sucked from KG all the way down to the towel boys.

By the way, don't give me that KG had a great scoring game...he missed several defensive assignments that resulted in 3 pt. shots.  It was just not a Celtic performance tonight.

Everyone take a deep breath they lost a game. I would venture to say it will not be their only loss. The team is not perfect and they will work to correct what went wrong. Calm down folks. LOL

On the bright side of us playing like crap...The Suns played pretty flawlessly and we were still almost able to win the game.  We played like crap against the Twolves and we won that game.  If we can play like this and still be in games, we are in good shape.
