A little.

But I'd be more worried about it if this wasn't an absolutely dominant defensive team.

Defense will help surmount the tough shooting nights.

14-20 tonight.

As long as they are effective and don't heave it up with reckless abandon, I'm fine with their love of the 3 ball.

So far, they've been pretty proficient with it and there hasn't been my instances where I've been finding myself asking "Why?".  They seem to be picking and choosing their spots pretty well with the shot selection.

I worry about the 3, only because part of me still cringes and remembers 'Toine hoisting them up, and long nights watching OB coach the Cs.

With this current team, so far so good.  We have good rebounders, which is crucial if you are going to hoist threes, and we have good defense.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
Let the coach worry about the treis. Thats what he gets paid for. In the meantime, enjoy the show, as Im doing.

I'm only worried about the games where we shoot 0 for 14 from 3.  It will happen, and if this team prepares themselves for that to happen, then they will have a chance to win that game.  This team is good enough to go 0 for 14 from three and still win the game.  But if we get comfortable with these 14 for 20 games, we could get in trouble down the line.

Not in the least. We have the guys that can score in other ways as well to pick up the slack if we go cold from 3 point land.

I think i'm also comfortable with it because, as many others in this thread have said, we are getting quality three's.

When a team like PHX, NY, or ORL is living and dying by the three, They take a ton of them which are contested/ not in rythm.

For us, i don't see us as "in love" with the three so much as teams have to give up a wide open three because of our spacing and the way paul and rondo get into the lane.

As long as they are wide open, quality looks and not forced three's for the sake of taking them, im very ok with it.

We have the shooters to take a lot of them.  It doesn't get much better than having Eddie and Ray.  Paul has been taking good ones, and Sheed has been hot, though he occasionally forces 3's.

NOPE, the C's are showing so many ways to score I think the 3's are just becoming a part of seriously stacked offense.  Remember the 3's open lanes for paul, rondo and ray to drive

I am really uncomfortable throwing all these percentages around with this sample size. Lets talk in 20 games because there is a point to be made.

However, as Sheed takes some contested threes the ball movement looks GREAT otherwise.

I would hate to get discouraged about this team offesively based on numbers because what i am seeing, I like.

One point to make though is that as teams start respecting and guarding the 3 pt line a little closer with us, we will have to adjust. And luckily we have multi dimensional players who can also take it to the rack. See KG going to the post more in the 07-08 playoffs for example.

Nope in fact you should probably get used to it.  They are team made up of really good to great 3pt shooters.

I love the back breaking ability of the C's 3 point runs. As long as they come in the flow of the offense, I love 'em.

The 3 pointer is a huge weapon, and very needed by any team who want to get the title.
