Loved Bill Walton - still do. Read his book about his love of the game and it brought tears to my eyes. Love the rambling hyperbole mixed with the logic of a Dead-Head on a three day high.

I can only say

"Throw it down big guy.....just throw it down"

That's a shame, I've always wanted to listen to him and Tommy together. That would have been an adventure for the ages.

Best of luck to Bill in anything else he decides to do.

That would be the pinnacle of homerism.  Tremendous!

Hopefully they can sign up Frank Caliendo to fill in.

Walton was aweful and over rated.  He should not be in the basketball HOF.  He was injured far too long & contributed far too little to deserve such prestigeous honors.

Amazing thing about Walton is that he struggled with stuttering and other speech problems for many years (even into his NBA career, I believe) and clearly (much to the chagrine of many) conquered these challenges.

I love the guy and look forward to hearing about what he means by 'service'.  I expect to be impressed.

I thought if he had stayed healthy he would have been one of the top 5 centers of all time.

I dunno.  He was something special before injuries took their toll (so I've heard; never saw him play), but top 5?  Off the top off my head I've got Wilt, Kareem, Russell, Hakeem, and Shaq.  I wouldn't take a healthy Walton ahead of any of those guys.

Bill Walton has provided entertainment to the game of basketball for decades. Ill bis the big fella.

The master of hyperbole I once heard him say that Robery Horry was the best inbounds passer of all time.

Doesnt get much better than that.
