I like that Shelden Williams had replaced Starbury as "easiest Celtic to make fun of"

It was touch and go for a while this summer when all we had was Scalabrine being white and a lil chubby and Giddens/Walker/Hudson being not ready for primetime.
Have you seen him smile?  Wow.
Yet he's still married to Candace Parker. Go figure

Speaking of looks... Shelden Williams and Candace Parker are having a pumpkin carving contest that they'll post on twitter. Should be interesting.

I am assuming you are leaving Tony out, because he went from funny to sad a couple years ago?

LOL good one.  Poor Tony.

I like Sheldon because in his first interview here he didn't say he signed for money, I don't think.

Greg Dickerson - "So, POB, why'd you choose Boston?"

O'Bryant - "Uhmm, money.. OH! and shiny stuff."  :-\

BBD haters trying to find someone to take his minutes. Powe couldn't do it, now trying out Shelden. lol

Just as ridiculous as those who are too hard on BBD are those who are too easy on him and refuse to admit the guy has some pretty serious flaws. It isn't like the guy has a 90% complete game and one glaring weakness. He has 3-4 glaring weaknesses. Just ask all those other GM's who could have signed him this offseason for a song. There is a reason DA tried so hard to go out and fill his spot and why no one out there wanted any part of the Big Baby.

As far as Powe goes, Powe DID take away his minutes and if it weren't for the injury you would have seen a ton of Powe in the playoffs and very little BBD. Just like the year before.

None of this true but, TP for your opinions.

Thanks for the TP, we'll take them any way we can get them, but you need to be a little more specific about "none of this is true". I stated BBD has 3-4 glaring weaknesses at his position:

Poor Rebounder
Poor finisher around the rim
No shot blocking ability

There are 3 that can not be denied unless you don't want to be serious. I would add him being a poor perimeter defensder as well considering everyone gives him credit for being a great outside player, yet he can't defend outside. That's 4 in my book, however 3 can't even be argued.

DA did nothing of the such in regards to BBD.

The comment about the Cav isn't correct or at least it's an opinion which I don't agree with and since BBD averaged 16(something the Cav could never do ) and 6 last playoffs I would suspect my opinion is correct.

I don't care if he blocks shots and neither could Powe but, he can do so much more than Powe or Williams that it doesn't matter.

The comment about none of it being true had to do with your extrapolations regarding DA and the Cav/BBD situation.  Does BBD have some limitations yes and because of those he is more suited for backup but, I would want him available if something happened (injuries) and they needed a starter over both Williams or the Cav.

By the way, I DO NOT CONDONE any making fun of Sheldon's game.  He looks like he could be a big help to this team if he continues to gell.

I like Sheldon. He seems like a nice hardworking young player. I'm really hoping being forced into the rotation so early in the season will help both him and team in the long run.
He shows some life out there and his hustle actually produces some results which is already better than POB and Mikki so compared to the production from last season's end of bench bigs he's already a win for me. And he refuses to be bullied by allstar Mo "I'll make guarantees then disappear in the playoffs" Williams.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Obviously Danny had questions about BBD's maturity and willingness to sign for realistic money. Good move bringing Williams. However, it does confirm some questions that his latest injury only highlights. BBD still has a lot of growing to do.
Having Shelden get solid minutes now could pay big dividends in the event of a trade or injury down the road.

Why obviously?  The only thing the Williams signing had to do with BBD is that it provided insurance in case they couldn't sign Davis.  Ultimately though, he was signed because he was the most reliable of the vet minimum big men.

But I do agree that it is a good thing to get Williams minutes now, because it will make it easier, if he needs to step back into the rotation later in the year in the case of another injury or trade.

I thought they signed SW when they decided not to offer Leon a new contract.  In any event, I think Sheldon can have more utility that BBD on the second unit because he can hit the offensive glass. Sheed not likely to help in that regard, given his location at top of key in offensive scheme.
