Pick A Player Final Standings

Here's what I'd like to accomplish here.

After each night's Pick A Player game we will tabulate the results in the standard way for daily winners.  In addition, on this page we (or more specifically, more than likely I) will post a YTD running point system using the following formula.

The winner of the daily game will be awarded 2 points for every contestant that day.  The rest will be given points in reverse order of finish.

For example if there are 7 people playing

1st Place - 14 points
2nd - 6
3rd - 5
4th - 4
5th - 3
6th - 2
7th - 1

*DNPs will be placed in the bottom slots.

As the stats accumulate your score and amount of games you have played will be totaled.  You will be given a total score and an average score.

At the end of the season the Top 8 for total, and the Top 8 for average will make the Bracket Playoffs (more on this in a bit).  In order to qualify for the high average you must participate in at least 20 games and have been active at least one game in the month prior to the playoffs.

If there are duplicate players for both Total and Average the next highest player(s) from the Total list will be added to the 16 playoff slots as needed.

The playoff "seeds" will be determined by an aggregate total of the qualifiers in standings for both categories (rotisserie style).  If there is a tie preference will go to the player with higher Total points.  

The teams for the Playoff Brackets will then be drafted by the players in order of seeding.  

I'll get more into the Playoffs as the time approaches, but wanted to get some ideas down now.

Also, there will be times when I'll need some help with this.  Mostly it would be great if the person doing the nightly results could do them in reverse order.

Hopefully this works out.  Could be fun.

its not the one night the one that worries me but the other 81
I stink in regular season games
but i rock on one on ones.

Redz, my man, this is going to be a huge amount of work. If you need any help or can't do it for some reason or just get sick of it, I'll be more than happy to volunteer my time to help. This looks like it could become a huge project by mid season.

Not a rule or anything, just something that will make my job easier to keep track of all this...has to do with sorting new info with existing info...I need the results to be consecutive (which will happen if the names are the same each time)
