Well, I think Sergio Rodriguez would be happier playing 10-15 minutes a game in Boston than 10-15 minutes a game in Sacramento behind Beno Udrih and Tyreke Evans.
Evans is clearly the pg of the future for the Kings, and Udrih has a big contract.  That doesn't leave many minutes for Rodriguez.

If I thought Acie Law were a good defender I might prefer him, but I do not think Law defends well, althoug he's probably better than Rodriguez. But offensively "Spanish Chocolate" is
very skilled.

I'm not opposed to Sergio. I think sergio would serve well as a backup pg also. I like that idea also. Except as far as making the trade, it would be easier to trade TA for Acie straight up, because their contracts are almost identical. Where as sergio trade, TA makes to much for a direct player for player trade.

Instead, a deal more like JR and Walker for Sergio works, but I am a big proponent for getting rid of Tony, and which free's up that backup wing pos. minutes so that Marquis and Billy can operate those minutes.

Wait, I missed something, why would either of those teams give up their young PG's for Tony Allen????  Are we sending a first round pick?

They might, depending on how much cash the Celtics were willing to include as a sweetner.

Golden State would give up their young PG for Tony because they already have younger PG's like Monta Ellis, Stephen Curry, they re-signed CJ Watson, they traded away Jamal Crawford for two pg's speedy claxton and (acie law). plus Don Nelson likes to put stephen Jackson at the point a lot. so GSW is log-jammed at pg.

The real question is, why the heck would we trade Tony for Acie? Acie sucks. If Tony is traded for anything, it shouldn't be for that crap. We're better off keeping Tony.

I know people want to get rid of Tony, but some of the people some here want in return are complete head scratchers.

There's no way you can expect anything better in return when you start talking about trading Tony Allen. Which is why a trade with Tony Allen for Acie Law is almost as even as it gets.

And no we aren't better off keeping Tony, because in trading for Acie Law we get a guy who can actually handle the ball, being that he is a point guard naturally. which is what the C's need at this point in time.  Tony Allen is crap agreed. Acie Law is crap agreed. But as for what the celtics need, Acie Law is the better choice because he is a natural pg.  and can fill the backup pg spot. Tony Allen is a decent (being generous) defender on wings.

So Tony Allen is crap with a lil defensive capabilities
and Acie Law is crap with pg skills, and ball handling.

Trading TA for Acie is not to get anything better in return, its to get what is needed in return

There's no way you can get anything better in return if you offer is named Tony Allen.

No worries. Would rather have a solid wing to back up Pierce. Let Daniels and House run the show. Lester can fill in as backup. With Ray, Paul and Marquis there will always be a solid ball handler on the floor.

There are lots of ballhandlers, but most of them can't run an offense.
