So I guess the Colts have some interest. The mixed emotions in my head are kinda exploding.

I hear you.
I'd like to see Favre as QB of Colts.  That way when the Pats play them, the Pats can embarrass not only the Colts but BF.
Celtics fan for life.

Don't really care what Favre does anymore, as long as he doesn't show up in New England ... pretty much lost all respect for the guy over the last couple of seasons. It's a shame to see such an icon and talented human self-destruct that way.

Rent a qb for a few weeks while Manning is out is not a bad idea.  I could imagine Favre wouldn't mind it either.  The entire season is too much for the old guy.

My question is, wouldn't Carson Palmer be a better fit with their system?

Well, Carson Palmer is retired/locked up, and unless Mike Brown stops being a terrible owner, he is not going anywhere.

Brett is really testing the theory that you can get into the HOF no matter how dig a d bag you are if you just have some modestly impressive stats and one whole Super Bowl ring, as long as you do everything as selfishly as possible

Brett Favre is on drugs...

There I said it.

Its the only way to describe his behavior and decision making progress.

I guess it could be explained by other menatal illnesses. He could have brain damage. Either way, this guys needs help.

His drugs are attention and money.  There are a ton of pro athletes who would do the exact same thing as Favre has been doing, if they had the chance, but luckily for all of us, there have been very few of these guys whose skills have still been salvagable at such an advanced age.  Most of them have been forced to walk away before they can put themselves (and the rest of us) through this stuff.

It's not the fact that he wants to come back every year, it's the indecisiveness and lack of consideration for anyone else involved in these decisions.

These are behavior traits of a sick person in my opinion.

He's a narcissistic lunatic.

haters are going to hate.

It sure would be smart of him to sit at home instead of making a few quick mil. It's not his fault if someone wants to pay him.

Eh, why should he be considering "other people involved", when they are letting him do this?

These teams could all give him a deadline and then walk away.  However, they won't, so there is really no reason for him not to hold out on making a decision as long as he can.

Obviously, it is not the healthiest attitude in the world, but I really don't think it is that far from the norm.  The difference is, most people have consequences for doing something like that, while he is given a free pass.

So I don't really hate Farve? I hate the enablers?  No. I hate Farve too. Here's some "other people involved" that he should have thought of....his wife and kids when he was sexting that FSU chick that he couldn't even get.   Or he could think of his team every time he blows off his offensive coordinator.  Or he could think of himself and stay in shape if he's going to play so he might get less concussions.

I coulda sworn the "sexting" was with a Jets' employee...unless she just happens to be a FSU alum. Not necessarily sure how that's relevant to whether he should play or not, which I'm sure Greenbean was getting at.

Anyways, if a team is really willing to give Favre a shot at this point of his career, I can't really say that Favre is obligated to retire if he really doesn't want to, even if that infact may be better for him.  It's that simple.

I'm also not so sure that Favre's been given a free pass. He sure didn't get one from Green Bay, and anyone who has been following Favre the last few years remembers the infamous night that the Vikings captains spent at Favre's house before convincing him to report to camp.

Hey, I hate Favre too.  I think he is a very unlikable human being.  I am just saying that I don't think he is that far from the norm psychologically.

It is not abnormal for people to push the limits of what they can get away with, and when they are enabled, cross the line of what we might consider "normal" behavior.

(H)is wife and kids when he was sexting that FSU chick that he couldn't even get.

Yeah I think that whole thing got blown way out of proportion. Call me crazy, but I kind of think every single guy in professional sports is a womanizer.
