Also, how many games should he be suspended for?

What a pansy. That is not how you tackle someone. That's how you pretend to look like you want to tackle someone then hope someone will quickly stop you or pull you off.

Yeh, they won't levy a suspension for a few days...Then the Sox will appeal...Then they'll chop a couple of days off, then he'll start serving it (prob. w/in a week from now).

My guess is he'll ended up out for 7-10 days.
Yup

What are you talking about a pansy?  99% chance any of us get hit with that fastball in the back we are down for the count, let alone then go out to tackle somebody.

I'm sorry, but I'm with IP here. That move yesterday had definite pansy-ish tendencies, between the climactic love scene-esque tackle, and the bush league move chucking his helmet. I loved the fact he charged, but everything afterwards was a little weak.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

Listen there is so much that goes into a baseball fight, thats why there are almost never any good ones.  Youk is driving the guy in between first and second base so there are two Tigers players there that are gonna try and get him, then the catcher tailing him.  Meanwhile why is it a pansy move to throw your helmet but not to throw a ball at somebodies back after missing the guy you tried to hit the inning before and then holding your arms out like , "What did I do?" when the guy is charging at you?

I dunno if I am down for the count, but it would probably look something like:

I don't think Youkilis is a pansy but I think the idea that he ever wanted to "fight" anyone is ridiculous. He knew exactly how much he was gonna pretend to tackle someone and he got flopped because the other guy didn't play along. Its like if Garnett went after lets say Mcdyess, and mcdyess popped him in the mouth after Garnett pushed him. Garnett almost always wants to look like he's gonna fight, but he never actually wants to fight.

Well thats how Baseball fights work.  Except for the rare occasion.  And like i said in my thread questioning whether or not these sox have what it takes.  This team no longer has guys like trot, Damon, Gabe, and Bellhorn that like to mix it up.  I am very grateful that Youk stood up for himself and for the team to an extent.  Agree to disagree that he didnt want to fight.  I mean you tell me, Somebody throws at you with the intent to injure you, because their player just got hurt.  He has only hit one previous batter this season and it happened to be you.  You dont think he wouldnt want to fight that guy if he wasnt about to get pummelled by the entire Tiger team?

Play 7-9 seconds. you can literally see him stop trying to do anything but hang on. He wanted to go through the motions, not actually do anything.

Ok Ive watched the video many times and I just disagree.  I think he definitly wanted to fight and I think its more physics as to why he went down first rather than he got flopped.

Have you ever charged at a guy who knew you were coming and tried to tackle him? You don't bear hug him and indian wrestle him to the ground. Youk didn't even try to spear him, he just gave him a big ol bear hug and got tossed like salad at olive garden.

Okay, now I am being hyperbolic. I think Kevin Youkilis knows how to level a guy if he wants to. he didn't want to level Porcello, he just wanted to look like he wanted to.

So then IP you are saying having mercy and not wanting to ruin a guys career since odds are if you tackle him he is gonna land on his shoulder is pansy behavior?

I challenge anyone with hands smaller than KG's tv to throw a helmet and not look like a pansy.  The part that I'd be more embarrassed about if I was Youk, was that he was unceremoniously tossed aside like Don Zimmer by Pedro (who's making his Phils debut tonight BTW).

haha, so what are you saying now? That Youkilis could've ninja'ed Porcello but didn't out of respect for his career?

Come on. Youkilis didn't want to risk a brawl but he didn't want to look like a guy who lets it go when he gets beaned. Because he only came in half cocked for appearances, he wasn't ready for when Porcello flopped him. Its not rocket science, but it does make Youk look a lil like a pansy.
